Orders will be picked up Christmas Eve starting at 10am. Orders should be placed no later than Dec 23rd by the end of the business day. Orders should be called in or texted to 530-776-4201.

Hello everyone! It’s the peak of the season at the farmers market. Made we have some great addition to our menu, at the Saturday farmers market. Starting today we have a commonplace of two tamales, rice and beans. Come try it out!

The name “tamal” comes from the Nahuatl word “tamalli,” which means “wrapped food.” The Aztec, Maya, and Inca civilizations were among the first to create this important food.

Dating back to 8,000 BC, tamales were convenient, nutritious meals for warriors, hunters, and travelers. Additionally, they held sacred significance and were offered to the gods during rituals and celebrations.

Made from masa (corn dough) with a variety of fillings, wrapped in corn or banana leaves, and then steamed. Today, they remain a key part of important holidays and celebrations, such as Christmas, Día de Mu***os, and family events.

Please note that orders should be in increments of a half dozen.
