Hi Folks,
It’s been a little while since we last connected — and wow, how life has changed!
It’s with mixed emotions that we share some bittersweet news: our store will be closing at the end of this month.
In just 16 short months, we’ve grown more than we ever imagined. We’ve learned so much, built something we’re proud of, and — most importantly — found a family in all of you. Your support of our mission, values, and dreams has meant the world to us, and we truly couldn’t have done it without you.
The reality is, life has shifted — as it tends to — and it’s been moving faster than we’ve had time to keep up. A year ago, we made the difficult decision to scale our farm back from full production to more of a homestead-style operation. Even then, we knew we were struggling to juggle all that life was throwing at us.
Farming has brought us so much joy. The markets, the community, the smiles — they filled our hearts. And opening the store allowed us to bring all of that into one space. But with that came even more hours, more responsibilities, and less time to be present with our family.
Injuries, aging grandparents, new roles as parents becoming grandparents, kids stepping into new chapters with homes and college, and even a few new puppies — all signs that it’s time for another big change.
We’re incredibly grateful for this journey. It’s been a good run — a meaningful one — and we’re thankful to have shared it with you.
So here’s the plan:
We’ll be closing the store at the end of the month — just three weeks from now. At that point, we’ll no longer be offering retail cuts of meat to the public, nor will we be carrying veggies, raw milk, baked goods, or all the other things you’ve come to know and love from us.
We know this change may cause some inconvenience, and we’re truly sorry for that. That said, we do have inventory that needs to go — and quickly.
If you’d like to stock your freezer for the months ahead, now’s the time! Some folks have already started picking up their favorite cuts, so don’t wait too long. (Not salesy, just the truth)
You can still shop during our limited hours:
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 2–6 PM
If raw milk is a must-have for you, please reach out ahead of time so we can be sure to bring it in for you.
Also — good news! Our nitrate-free bacon is back from the smokehouse and will be available this week.
If you’ve ever thought about buying a half pig — Now is the time!
Thank you again for all the love and support. Help us finish strong!
If there’s one thing we hope you take away from our journey, it’s this: support your local farmers, businesses, food producers, and the entire local food chain.
They don’t just need you — we all need them if we want our communities to not only survive, but truly thrive.
Please continue to support the incredible vendors, partners, and friends we’ve been lucky to work with over the years. They’re still out there doing what they do best — growing, baking, crafting, and producing some of the highest-quality goods you can find. And they absolutely deserve your support.
Your choices matters. Thank you for choosing local — and for choosing us.
Dumont Farms is not going away...
We will still continue to have whole and half beef and pork available from time to time, and we will begin offering more meats and veggies seasonally and as we have it. Many of you already are on our waiting lists for the future. We will continue to farm, always, but it will not be the same.
Thank you for everything.
