I have a stalker.. another stalker 🤣 you guys are wasting your time, what a weird human to stalk but ok. So my Farmhers won't be on the page anymore and some days I even shut 'er down. Their safety above all else. And I will never post when we are actually at that location. Come on now.. there's so much more interesting people in this world to stalk it's just weird at this point.. But ok 👍 👌

BUT let's talk about the grown Farmhers in my tribe Nikki Marie can take our most vulnerable and most precious assets and fly them to hospitals better suited for their needs. She can work/run the floor that recives those most critical babies... we met and it was like we were sisters in a past life? Like more than friends.. our hearts already knew each other. We have had too many similar life experiences before we met but we don't even have to talk about them. Then we created one family in this life together. Mine's doing taxes and hers is planting so we became mamas who parent and do spring break together, almost a decade of memories. I think the world of her kids and let me tell you I know that boys' heart is so good. And that little girl is why country girls are such good problems to have. They know Aunt Katie is here for them. Now you do.

It was supposed to be about the grown Farmhers but it isn't enough to brag on one part of you Mama, there's so much more. This woman also owns a business.. and is a 4h Ag Mama (ifykyk this is a whole dang job especially this week when it's fair week, unmatched temps of course because why not it aligns with hay season like magic and her hubby has like 15 jobs too..) and has enough in her heart to still make it to the most crucial moments in strangers' lives. Like there's nursing.. and then there's nursing you can't even talk about with the general public because we know you can't handle it. Guess which she does. Plus stays standing when I promise you... you know DARN well you'd have fallen. And holds her head high when she could have gone so low. So low. In fact, I'm from a different state just cheering her on telling her to go low. She is such a good woman. She ought to be on the town sign, so if they don't figure that out soon baby, I can do it next time! 😏 this Farmher isn't just cool because she is a Farmher.. she is THE Farmher. Often imitated but never fully copied, you couldn't if you tried.. but you ought to try!

Girl when it is time for your netflix documentary they know who to call to do your intro.. "hell yea she did it, I was sitting right beside her...and we'd do it again making better eye contact this time. What you gonna do about it?"

Today I went to see my old buddy's stuff just one more time.

I bought the things that felt like *him*—his Saturday night Resistol, the leather belt with Mary's name on it, even his cologne. We wore the same size boots, so of course those had to come home too.

Then I sat in the straw barn and had a root beer for him. Our 3 o'clock pop came a little early today.

Man... I miss you.

I miss hearing you tell me I'd already won. I miss you teasing me for working in pretty clothes. I miss you calling me a sissy because I'd wear Crocs in the barn. I miss hearing your old age making you soft, "Those calves are sick," or "Looks like twins." And trusting me to keep em alive.

Mostly, I miss having someone who believed in me before there was anything to prove.

They just don't make men like you anymore.

I don't know who's going to tell the cowboys to keep me around now.

I'm glad I get to tell everyone about you. Every time I wear that hat, those boots, or catch a hint of your cologne, a little piece of you will still be here. I still have the last straw bale I ever bought from you riding around in the back of my truck. I guess I've had a hard time letting go.

But maybe that's because some people deserve to be carried with us.

Thank you for being the very best old-fart neighbor a girl could ask for.

Until I see you again my friend ♡

I was going to set up this shoot in the wildflowers but got so angry and so side tracked because of snakes getting in our brooder and eating chicks. 😑 what snake remedies ya'll got? I'm less of a trap and release kinda gal and more like this is a war now.. I want to get straight to the explosives. 💣

*I would also like to note I knew this mild winter was going to be a problem. It didn't get cold enough to kill of some critters. We have critter and bug problems everywhere now. And I have paid the critter tax... now it's Braveheart...

** A Marketing Opportunity for Louisburg This Summer **

Over the past several months, I’ve been part of ongoing conversations around tourism and marketing for Louisburg with the city— and one thing has become very clear:

We are sitting on an opportunity we can’t afford to miss.

With FIFA World Cup activity centered in Kansas City and the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States bringing increased travel and attention to small-town America, communities like ours are exactly what people are searching for.

And Louisburg is uniquely positioned to offer it.

Just 30 minutes from the city, we provide something that is becoming harder and harder to find:

– Space to slow down
– Real connection to land and agriculture
– Locally owned businesses with story and purpose
– A true small-town experience that isn’t manufactured

People are actively looking for this.

They are leaving the city on weekends, searching for places where their kids can run, where they can breathe, and where experiences feel real again.

And we already have it.

While large-scale marketing efforts often take years to build, the reality is — we don’t have that timeline.

This moment calls for a more immediate, intentional approach.

That’s why I’ve launched an **independent local marketing campaign** focused on highlighting the businesses, spaces, and experiences that make Louisburg worth the visit — especially those rooted in agriculture, land, and authentic small-town living.

This is designed to:
– Increase visibility for local businesses
– Position Louisburg as a weekend destination
– Capture seasonal travel tied to Kansas City events
– Highlight ag tourism and outdoor experiences
– Create consistent, high-quality content that draws people in

This campaign is privately operated, with the goal of working alongside and supporting the broader vision for Louisburg — while moving at a pace that allows us to take advantage of this summer’s opportunity.

Similar campaigns have seen a 10:1 return for local businesses who invest early in visibility. Ottawa continues to see strong ROI 2 years later. The data supports this.

If you are a local business owner, farm, or organization interested in being featured or learning more about how this campaign can support your visibility this season, I would welcome the conversation.

Louisburg has everything it needs.

NOW is the time to show it.
