Growing Forward Farmers Market- Local Refugees Selling Urban Garden Produce A mini-farmer's market featuring freshly grown, pesticide free produce grown by local refugees. Food and drink available.

Come and join us on Sunday mornings starting June 22 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and purchase your organically grown produce from refugee farmers. cultural skills, With the help of Catholic Charities’ Refugee
Agricultural Partnership Program (RAPP) participants plant and harvest a bounty of vegetables which are available for sale to the public.
100% of the proceeds go directly to the growers to help them
acclimate to their new country. The second annual Gleaning Project will accept your home grown
produce to sell at the Growing Forward Refugee Farmers Market to
benefit the refugees. Just bring your bounty to the market and we
will take care of the rest.

The Growing Forward mini-Market is now open! We need you! Please remember that 100% of all proceeds are returned instantly to the refugees who grow the produce. Get great vegetables and do a good deed all at the same time! Shopping at the Growing Forward Market has always been about social justice :) Please come! Louisville becomes home to thousands of refugees each year. Fleeing violence and persecution, many of them escape with little more than their agricultural skills. With the help of Catholic Charities’ Refugee Agricultural Partnership Program (RAPP) participants plant and harvest a bounty of vegetables in urban settings around Louisville. These are harvested and made immediately available for sale to the public.

100% of the proceeds of our Market go directly to the refugees.

The 7th annual Growing Forward Gleaning Project, located at the Market, will also accept YOUR home grown produce to sell at the Growing Forward Refugee Farmers Market to benefit the refugees. OR- we will deliver it to the homeless. Just bring your bounty to the market and we
will take care of the rest.

GREETINGS! The Growing Forward Market will open for the season TOMORROW, May 21! Small amounts of early season produce (usually greens) will be available! We will be open each Sunday from now on, barring weather or unforeseen circumstances.

The Growing Forward Farmer's mini-Market is pleased to announce that our GLEANING PROJECT will once again be occurring this Summer! If your garden has an abundance of any produce, pick it and bring it to us at the Market on Sunday mornings (1960 Bardstown Rd, Louisville Ky, 40205 10-12) We will make certain that it is delivered promptly to a local homeless shelter, food pantry, or given to refugees/individuals who need food. Please tell your friends that we can help if they have too many tomatoes!

Why visit us? Farm fresh, pesticide free produce, grown by refugees from Catholic Charities is available every Sunday in front of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Student members of the St. Francis Committee on Conscience are always on hand to help you with your shopping needs. MEAT PASTRIES/SAMBUSAS (cooked on-site) WILL ALSO BE SOLD! 100% of all proceeds are returned immediately to the refugees. Your shopping can be stewardship.

The Growing Forward mini-Farmer's Market is trying to GROW! But, we need YOUR Help! Aside from pesticide-free produce, free range chicken eggs, and Somali meat sambusas, we are now offering fabric goods sewn by refugees from Catholic Charities Immigration and Migration Services. Adjustable kitchen aprons, hot pads, and change purses can be now purchased As with the produce, 100% of the proceeds are returned to the refugees.

How can you help! Please consider stopping by on Sundays between 10:00 -12:00! If you can't please tell a friend! Even the smallest of purchases creates a great amount of potential and hope for the refugee participants of these programs :)
