SNAP UPDATE for Ohio Families
(November 2025)

Many Ohioans are still waiting for this month’s SNAP (food assistance) benefits. Here’s what we know so far:

👉 The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) is reviewing new federal instructions from the USDA.
👉 States are being told to cut maximum SNAP benefits by 50% and recalculate each household’s monthly amount.
👉 SNAP payments were paused on Nov. 1 because of the ongoing federal government shutdown — the longest in U.S. history.

ODJFS says they’re working to:

Figure out the new benefit amounts

Decide when partial November payments will be released

Once that’s done, the state will notify recipients about their updated amount and payment date.

💡 Important info:

Any unused funds from past months are still available on your EBT card.

This pause only affects November benefits.

Ohio Works First (cash assistance) is still being issued.

The state has also provided $7 million to help local food banks.

'Due to the government shutdown, SNAP will be delayed starting November 1, but the Produce Perks SNAP matching program is still active. If you still have a balance on your EBT, you can stretch it farther in November at participating farmers’ markets and grocery stores. Visit produceperks.org or text your county to 5136432464 to find a participating location near you."

Let's celebrate the Loveland Farmers' Market season finale on Tuesday, 10/28, 3-6:30 @ 205 Broadway! Wear a costume and trick or treat at the booths, play games like Pumpkin Face Co****le and Witches Hat Ring Toss, do a Halloween craft, dance to the music, shop and wish all your market friends well for the winter!

It was a hoot at LFM on Tuesday with Grampa Wayne and his bluegrass buddies jamming, people with beaming smiles , and vendors with their scrumptious local goods! Only two more markets left before we close down until next May, so come on over to the friendliest market in town!

This coming Sunday, October 5th, is the Boltz to Nutz annual fundraiser for BoltzStrong, our adaptive cooking and gardening program for kids and adults with disabilities and their loved ones. Since August of 2022 we've held over 175 classes supporting independence and community for hundreds of participants and family members. Your contributions help keep these classes free for those who need them most and help us expand into new areas such as adaptive archery and fishing.

Join us October 5th and see what it's all about!

We will have curated picnic baskets to enjoy anywhere on the property, adaptive cooking demos, farm tours and a Silent Auction filled with fun items and holiday gift ideas. Silent auction link is on the registration page.
