🚩 MISSING KOUNTZE WOMANS BOYFRIEND FACES MURDER CHARGE.

▪︎MULTI-AGENCY SEARCH FOR HER BODY CONTINUES

▪︎HARDIN COUNTY, TX -- A Southeast Texas woman remains missing, and investigators are continuing the search for her body after authorities say evidence led them to believe she was killed in a domestic violence incident. Her boyfriend has been arrested and charged with murder.

Julia Renee Carter, 46, of Kountze, was reported missing to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, October 16, after her employer noticed she had failed to show up for work for several days. The employer requested a welfare check at a Kountze residence, prompting an investigation that has since expanded across multiple Texas communities.

According to KFDM News which broke the story Wednesday, October 21, investigators spoke with Carter’s friends and family and gathered evidence that authorities say indicated her disappearance was connected to a fatal domestic violence incident.

Her boyfriend, Darren Wayne Monk, 42, also of Kountze, was identified as the suspect, according to information released in the case.

■ SUSPECT TRACKED ACROSS TEXAS

Authorities say Monk initially spoke with law enforcement by telephone Friday afternoon, but subsequently left the area and declined to cooperate with the investigation.

A MURDER ARREST WARRANT was issued by 356th District Judge Steve Thomas. Law enforcement agencies then worked together to track Monk to several cities throughout East and South Texas as the search for him continued.

On Wednesday, October 21, Monk was apprehended near KATY, TX by members of the United States Marshals Service, working alongside the Gulf Coast Violent Crimes Task Force and Southeast Texas Violent Crimes Task Force.

He was arrested without incident and returned to the Hardin County Jail.

According to KFDM, Hardin County Justice of the Peace Charles Brewer arraigned Monk and set his bond at **$1 million on the murder charge**.

Monk has been charged with murder. The charge is an allegation, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

⚠️ **CARTER’S BODY HAS NOT BEEN FOUND**

Despite the arrest, a major question remains unanswered: Julia Renee Carter’s body has not been located.

Authorities have indicated that the investigation continues around the clock, with resources being utilized from across Texas to assist with the search and investigative work.

Investigators have not publicly detailed all the evidence collected, or disclosed a confirmed location where Carter’s body may be found. The search remains a critical part of the ongoing investigation.

The suspect’s arrest is a significant development, but it does not bring the case to a close. Investigators are still working to locate Carter and establish the full circumstances surrounding her disappearance and suspected death.

• Hardin County Sheriff’s Office

The involvement of these agencies reflects the broad effort to locate the suspect and continue the investigation across jurisdictional boundaries.

The HARDIN COUNTY SHERRIFS OFFICE is the lead local agency identified in the initial report.

As of the latest information reported by KFDM, Carter has not been found, and authorities have not publicly released further details about the alleged killing.

☆ TEXAS GAME WARDENS ASSIST IN NURSING HOME INCIDENT ● SILSBEE, TX

■ MASSIVE TRANSFORMER FALLS ON SILSBEE NURSING HOME: RESIDENTS EVACUATED

•SILSBEE, TX....A frightening situation unfolded Wednesday morning at SILSBEE OAKS after a massive electrical transformer fell onto the nursing home.

The incident prompted a coordinated response from Silsbee Fire & Rescue, Acadian Rescue, Texas Game Wardens and additional first responders, who worked together to secure the scene and assist with the evacuation of some residents.

Despite the frightening circumstances, no injuries have been reported.

Officials say staff and first responders have had the situation under control, working together to keep residents safe and address the incident.

Our interview with Acadian Rescue’s public relations representative Jason Cooper shows expressed gratitude to Silsbee Fire & Rescue and the numerous first responders who worked together to assist the facility and its residents.

Silsbee Oaks officials are also thanking the community for the overwhelming concern and willingness to help.

While a massive transformer coming down on a nursing facility is certainly a frightening sight, officials say the residents and staff have been cared for and the response has remained under control.

▪︎The U.S. National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting VILLAGE CREEK near Kountze to crest around 23.3 feet just after midnight tonight.

⚠️ Major flood stage begins at 23 feet.
Here's what those numbers can mean on the ground:

🚧 ROAD IMPACTS COME BEFORE 23 FEET

■ 17 FT: Water covers low spots on Willard Lake Road and Village Creek Road near Lumberton.

■ 18.4 FT: Water reaches the low chord of the FM 418 bridge.

■ 19 FT: Water can cover the Village Creek Road bridge in Lumberton, with backwater flooding affecting nearby homes and campsites.

■ 20 FT: Water begins flowing over the FM 418 bridge and covers other portions of FM 418. Roads in Village Creek State Park can also flood.

■ 23 FT: MAJOR FLOODING.

A POWERLINE fire in Lumberton kept residents yelling in fear as it kept sparking and reigniting with powerful burst as the rain water hits it.

"OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD,YOU CAN FEEL IT IN THE HOUSE!!" Resident yells towards the end of the video.

⚠️ IF YOU SEE A POWERLINE ON FIRE. ❌️ DO NOT ATTEMP TO EXTINGUISH, BUT CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY. Fire and electricity don't mix and is deadly. Stay away and warn others close by.
