ℹ️ Silsbee, TX - The name of the young man killed in the sanitation accident on Thursday, September 3rd has been identified after family was notified.

Carl Williams III, AKA ("LEWDY") as he was known by family and friends.

•Lewdy was well known & loved throughout the community. People remember him for his work ethics, friendliness, willingness to go above and beyond to help others, and a contagious smile for everyone.

☆ TEXAS GAME WARDENS ASSIST IN NURSING HOME INCIDENT ● SILSBEE, TX

■ MASSIVE TRANSFORMER FALLS ON SILSBEE NURSING HOME: RESIDENTS EVACUATED

•SILSBEE, TX....A frightening situation unfolded Wednesday morning at SILSBEE OAKS after a massive electrical transformer fell onto the nursing home.

The incident prompted a coordinated response from Silsbee Fire & Rescue, Acadian Rescue, Texas Game Wardens and additional first responders, who worked together to secure the scene and assist with the evacuation of some residents.

Despite the frightening circumstances, no injuries have been reported.

Officials say staff and first responders have had the situation under control, working together to keep residents safe and address the incident.

Our interview with Acadian Rescue’s public relations representative Jason Cooper shows expressed gratitude to Silsbee Fire & Rescue and the numerous first responders who worked together to assist the facility and its residents.

Silsbee Oaks officials are also thanking the community for the overwhelming concern and willingness to help.

While a massive transformer coming down on a nursing facility is certainly a frightening sight, officials say the residents and staff have been cared for and the response has remained under control.

⚠️ - VILLAGE CREEK FLOOD WARNING.
•Village Creek is headed toward MAJOR FLOOD STAGE.

▪︎The U.S. National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting VILLAGE CREEK near Kountze to crest around 23.3 feet just after midnight tonight.

⚠️ Major flood stage begins at 23 feet.
Here's what those numbers can mean on the ground:

🚧 ROAD IMPACTS COME BEFORE 23 FEET

■ 17 FT: Water covers low spots on Willard Lake Road and Village Creek Road near Lumberton.

■ 18.4 FT: Water reaches the low chord of the FM 418 bridge.

■ 19 FT: Water can cover the Village Creek Road bridge in Lumberton, with backwater flooding affecting nearby homes and campsites.

■ 20 FT: Water begins flowing over the FM 418 bridge and covers other portions of FM 418. Roads in Village Creek State Park can also flood.

■ 23 FT: MAJOR FLOODING.

🚩 These are documented flood impacts associated with the Kountze gauge not predictions that every road will close at exactly that number. Actual closures depend on conditions and decisions by authorities.

⚡️911 CALL ▪︎ LUMBERTON TERRIFYING ELECTRICAL FIRE

A POWERLINE fire in Lumberton kept residents yelling in fear as it kept sparking and reigniting with powerful burst as the rain water hits it.

"OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD,YOU CAN FEEL IT IN THE HOUSE!!" Resident yells towards the end of the video.

⚠️ IF YOU SEE A POWERLINE ON FIRE. ❌️ DO NOT ATTEMP TO EXTINGUISH, BUT CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY. Fire and electricity don't mix and is deadly. Stay away and warn others close by.

🌀 ▪︎TD5 CONTINUES TO STRENGTHEN INTO A POSSIBLE CAT-1 HURRICANE.

Tropical Depression Five is becoming better organized over the warm waters of the Gulf, and the system is expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Edouard this evening.

Cheif Meteorologist for KFDM News ▪︎ Greg Bostwick says TD5 is moving west-northwest at about 5 to 7 mph, with the latest forecast bringing the system ashore between High Island and Sabine Pass early Tuesday afternoon.
•Greg is also watching the possibility of additional strengthening before landfall:

《“There is enough time for the possibility that it could reach CAT1 hurricane status as it reaches the coast.” 》

❌️ That remains a possibility, not a certainty, and the Air Force Reconnaissance mission later this evening should provide valuable information about the storm's strength and structure.

⚠️ For SOUTHEAST TEXAS, the primary concerns remain HEAVY RAINFALL, FLOODING, COASTAL WATER LEVELS and GUSTY WINDS.

🔺️ The U.S. National Weather Service (NWS) is warning that periods of heavy tropical rainfall could produce FLASH FLOODING, especially in areas with poor drainage, and a Flood Watch is in effect for portions of the region. ( "weather.gov" (https://www.weather.gov/ ))

ℹ️ Local EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT agencies are monitoring the situation and preparing resources. ✅️ Residents should continue checking official forecasts, and LOCAL EMERGENCY ALERTS as the storm approaches. If you have a weather radio, check the batteries in case of power and cell tower outages.

✅️ A FEW SIMPLE REMINDERS:
✔️ Keep your phone's emergency alerts turned on.
✔️ Secure loose outdoor items before winds increase.
