I usually don’t post things like this, but I want to say something as a small business owner.

Recently, someone came in after we were already closed while we were prepping for our dinner night. Even though we were closed, we still tried to accommodate them. The imported Nutella they wanted was sold out. That happens. We can’t serve what we don’t have, especially when we’re closed and the team is already slammed getting ready for an event.

If someone feels the interaction was rushed or didn’t come across the right way, I’ll always own that and address it. Customer service matters to me, and I’ll never ignore that.

But I also have to stand up for my staff and my business.

What’s frustrating is that this same situation was then posted by both the daughter and the mother on separate days, making it look like multiple separate issues when it was really the same incident. That is tough for a small business to absorb, especially when we were closed, sold out of the item, and still tried to help.

We are human. We are working hard. We are not perfect. But we care, and we always try to do the right thing.

To everyone who supports us, checks on us, shows up for us, and understands what it takes to run a small business — thank you. We appreciate you more than you know.
