Greetings Neighbors. I am Johnnie Beshearse candidate for Lynn Haven Commissioner, Seat 3.
My Parents, Gene and Lucile, were residents of Lynn Haven when I was born in 1960. I attended Lynn Haven Elementary, Mowat Junior High, then Mosley High, graduating in 1978. I met my wife Michelle Roat while attending Gulf Coast Community (now State) College. After we married in 1982 we moved to Panama city (her home town) and began raising our family. In 1998 we decided to move back to Lynn Haven and finish raising our three children, Elizabeth, Tyler and Eleanor, here in the safety of Lynn Haven. So I have been a Lynn Haven Resident for 49 years. My sister, Cyd Buckner and her husband Keith live in Lynn Haven, as do my niece, Becky Ake and her family. I have very deep roots here. I know the city, its past and present and hope to make the future for our residents even brighter than it currently is.
Currently I serve as vice chairman of the Infrastructure Tax Oversight Committee. My wife Michelle is a member of the General Employee Pension Board.
For 38 years I was employed at Arizona Chemical (now Kraton) in the Engineering Department. I was the company’s Global Packaging subject matter expert until retirement. This position was responsible for packaging systems (proposed, new and existing), specifications, materials and processes for the entire Kraton portfolio. I interacted with and advised all levels and most disciplines of the company from new hires through the VP levels. I was also a member of the confined space rescue team at our local plant. This shows my wide range of operational, communication and team building skills as well as my ability to learn new things quickly. Being retired provides me with the opportunity to give back to the City I have always called home. Currently my hobbies include beekeeping, boating, fishing and building custom fishing rods. Occasionally I still play a round or two of golf.
Past Community positions in chronological order include Membership VP of Panama City Jaycees, Senior Warden of Holy Nativity Episcopal Church, Holy Nativity School Board, Finance Committee of Lynn Haven United Methodist Church and the Tupelo Beekeepers Association,
If elected I will represent your city’s interests with the best available data and input from Lynn Haven Citizens. I will strive to come to the best possible decisions for the benefit of our residents and the city.
I am looking to the future, not mired in the past. We must continue to move Lynn Haven forward with sound guidance.
Truth should always be the foundation of any decision, and it is my promise that this is what my decisions on your behalf will be based on. I will seek to preserve Lynn Haven’s heritage, while helping guide us to an even better future.
I am seeking your vote in this election. Your voice is important, mark your calendar and be sure to use your vote to help guide Lynn Haven into the future.
