Happy Sunday!! We’re back at it in Sandstone Park today, 9a-1p

Today’s community question: “what deserves more of your attention?”

For the month of August, we’re exploring what it looks like to Choose Stewardship. I don’t know about all of you, but I have certainly let some things go untended. This is a good time to slow down and notice what you’ve let slip through the cracks during all the summer fun. Stewardship begins with noticing - bringing your attention back.

Here’s who is in attendance with all their goodies made with love:
-Renee the Baker
-Plato’s Coffee (BEST coffee in Lyons, only here once a week! You don’t wanna miss these guys)
-West Wolf Medicinals
-St Vrain Coffee
-Embodied Ambrosia
-Author Cat Russell
-Tie-dyed Turtle (new vendor alert! come give her a warm welcome to the market)

Come early and beat the heat! Enjoy the shade under the trees in the park. Stop by for an iced coffee and scones on your way to the river. Sign up for your own market appearance, just $35/booth - applications ready to fill out on site at the info booth. Join our Friends of the Farmers Market group to give your feedback and share your ideas for the market productively.

Looking for a few determined volunteers to help carry the Lyons Farmers Market through the rest of the season

Hi Lyons!

I'm looking for a small team of reliable volunteers to help with the final 8 Lyons Farmers Markets this season, from August 16 through October 4.

This is a great opportunity if you enjoy being part of community events, don't mind a little physical work, and like helping create welcoming spaces.

Volunteer responsibilities include:
Morning setup (7:30–9:00 a.m.)
- Measure and mark vendor spaces
- Help vendors find their assigned spots (market map provided)
- Set up the Market Information Booth
- Set up the Community Question Board
- Set up the Kids' Play Zone (blocks, toys, and supplies provided)

During the market (9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.)
- Welcome visitors and answer basic questions
- Staff the Market Information Booth
- Sell Lyons Farmers Market posters
- Keep an eye on the Kids' Play Zone and general market activity
- Be an extra set of hands if vendors or visitors need assistance

Breakdown (1:00–2:30 p.m.)
- Pack up market materials
- Make sure the park is left clean
- Help return supplies to the Market Manager (me)

The full day runs 7:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m., but I'm happy to split the day into two shifts if that makes volunteering more manageable:

Morning: 7:30–11:30
Afternoon: 11:30–2:30

I'm especially looking for people who can commit to helping consistently, whether that's every week or several of the remaining markets. Having dependable volunteers makes an enormous difference.

The Lyons Farmers Market has always been about more than buying vegetables. It's about creating a place where neighbors connect, kids play, local farms thrive, and our community gathers. If that sounds like something you'd enjoy helping steward for the rest of the season, I'd love to hear from you.

We’re up n rocking again in Sandstone Park 9a-1p! Been snapping pretty pics for the first hour of the morning, highlighting the veggies and flowers that are our showstoppers today! Come check out what Simple Things Farm and Common Name Farm brought for you 😍

We’ve also got LCF here with hotdogs and Double Yolk Farm with locally produced eggs! And if you missed our traveling artisan last week, Dr Odd Drawings is here for one more pop-up before he heads back to Tennessee.

Tim Merkel is here to jam with us 10a-1p in Sandstone Park. Come savor the halfway point of this Lyons Farmers Market journey.
