French Palmier Cookies!💛
Making puff pastry from scratch is quite difficult and time-consuming, but luckily you can use frozen puff pastry! Make this perfectly crisp, sweet and crunchy palmier with only 2 ingredients! It can be served as a breakfast pastry, afternoon snack, or dessert!!
Ingredients
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, defrosted
1 cup cane sugar
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C)
2. Pour 1/2 cup of the sugar on a flat surface such as wooden board or marble. Unfold a sheet of puff pastry onto the sugar and pour 1/2 cup of the sugar on top, spreading it evenly on the puff pastry. With a rolling pin, roll the dough until it's 13 by 13-inches square and the sugar is pressed into the puff pastry on top and bottom. Fold both sides of the square toward the center so they go halfway to the middle. Fold them again so the two folds meet exactly at the middle of the dough. Then fold 1 half over the other half as though closing a book.
3. Using a sharp knife, slice the dough into ½ inch slices and place the slices, cut side up, on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
4. Bake for 10 minutes, flipping them halfway, until the sugar is caramelized and the cookies are golden brown.
