At times, Law Enforcement will be called upon to respond to an address where an individual with Special Needs may be present or in need of help. This can range from those with Autism, Down Syndrome, PTSD, and much more. We aim to protect all citizens, and we are here to serve and protect in the most professional possible way. Our Sheriff App and website provides those citizens and their family members a pathway of proactiveness by allowing you to send information directly to our dispatchers. This information is then attached to the address on file, which shows up for deputies when they are sent out in the event of an emergency. By filling out a short form, you are helping DeSoto Parish Sheriff, 911, EMS, and Fire to better understand the needs of those residents so that we are able to properly and effectively respond when a need arises. DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office has a multiple step hiring process.  Throughout this process, applicants will be screened with a reading and comprehension test, physical fitness assessment, background check, and interview.

To those that got on our purplehull pea list, we have planted more peas as our original planting is down to a trickle on production. If everything goes as planned these are about 30ish days out from first harvest. We will fulfill those already on the list first. Thanks for your patience and sorry for any inconvenience.
