Happy Labor Day weekend, PPI friends! ❤️🇺🇸

Today you can find us in Colorado Springs at the Colorado Springs Sunday Market and the Southeast Farmers Market-SEFC. We’re also open at our main market down in Manzanola.

I’m also sharing a couple of throwback pictures of my dad and my girls enjoying some summer watermelon.

These pictures mean a little extra to me. I love seeing my girls with their grandpa and remembering those simple summer days. Just sitting around, eating watermelon, and just being together. Those are the memories you hold onto.

Miss you, Dad. We’re still here, still growing, and still carrying on the family farm.

I’ve known The Farmer's Daughter Colorado for the last 5 market seasons, and they are truly incredible peach farmers!

So when my sister and mom had to head to the Western Slope today, they had to stop by Saims Fruit Inc.! The Farmer’s Daughter gets their amazing Palisade peaches from Saims, so of course they had to stop in and check them out.

They had a great time visiting, and I really hope I get the chance to make it out there someday!

We really appreciate Saims taking the time to visit with my mom and sister. That kind of kindness means a lot.

Okay, so we’ve been talking about sending one of our melons a little farther than usual… 😂🍈

Farmer Brad’s sister lives all the way up in Homer, Alaska, so yes… we’re sending her a Piel de Sapo and a Yellow Canary melon!

Fingers crossed it makes it there safely, quickly, and still tastes good!

The journey starts today!

My sister has been busy making homemade aguas frescas, and they have been SO good! Made with our homegrown watermelons, they’re refreshing on these hot days!

Watermelon Agua Fresca!

Recipe:
• 6 cups ripe watermelon, cubed
• 3 cups cold water
• ¼–½ cup sugar, to taste
• Juice of 1 lime
• Ice

Blend the watermelon, water, sugar, and lime until smooth. Strain if you like it a little smoother, pour over ice, and enjoy! ❤️🍉

Nothing fancy, just fresh, simple, and delicious!
