Hey, folks! Be Glad’s is in need of vases! If you have any to donate, we’d kindly accept them. Keep us in mind if vases are in your Goodwill pile over the next year. We’re mostly needing wide, mason jar or larger neck openings! Tall vases for glads would be great too! Thank you in advance! We’ve literally had a ball this summer with every person who showed up in our driveway packing a pair of scissors or not! We said we were growing for fun (and it’s been!) we said we were growing to learn…and we are learning a ton (we learned Dill was almost a delicacy…we’ll double down on that next year!) Lastly, we said we were growing to give. Hopefully any of you followers by now, know the Amboy Lions are my soft spot!- and the proceeds of this garden stand are going to them! Last night, the Amboy Lions took our monthly meeting to Mankato, where the last living, founding member, Benny, “Coach Peterson”, resides, with his wife, Nona. It was a special meeting! Benny was sharp, he almost ran the meeting…he’s a past Lions president, multiple times over! He picked up on when we got off track and motioned to move on from topics; it was all business to him- I wish I knew this man 30 years ago! I got the sense he’s a lifelong learner and an all-around decent human being! I can’t tag Benny, in this; most seasoned adaults are not on facebook; vases are what I was after…but, what I really want, is to share, -love your old people! - recognize their beautiful souls and the impacts they have had, and the lives they have lived. ♥️ how lucky are we, to know anyone born before the 1950’s!?

Be Glad’s will have flowers for sale tomorrow, (Wednesday)…at Community Bank Amboy. For $8/jar, you can brighten someone’s day! …and help the Amboy Lions’ efforts…proceeds go to all the good causes the Lions contribute to! Some of those include sponsoring local Maple River students by contributing to scholarships to seniors, aiding local families in need during tough times, and helping raise funds for the Veteran’s Memorial planned for the old school site that’s been in the works for years…but, is soooo close to fruition!

Be Glad’s has had a fun weekend! Six random dill pickers and the hosting of a family gathering in honor of a special birthday girl! -Dill was picked, flowers were cut, kittens were loved and bunnies hugged!♥️….and roosters crowed! Blooms are-a-plenty and ready for some vases! It all won’t last long, as it’s mid-August almost! Come on out and see us, while the cutting’s still good! Eggs, flowers, and some dill…are available.
