Just like many of you on Marco, Naples we are without internet. So unfortunately we do not have phone service. Nor do we have the lines for credit card machines. And for that reason we are asking for cash or checks. Our staff all made it thru the storm and are happy to be back to work. And we hope when we see you all Please come and see us soon.

So after a summer of family and friends here we are back into a new season. So excited to have our crew coming back to work with us again. So excited to see the familiar faces of our long time customers. So excited to see the new people just now finding our little store.
And so excited about a very special event that came home from the NICU at the hospital today, his name is Nathan David Whiting, he is the newest edition to our family!

We've been busy this summer. We have celebrated Stephanie's birthday, Scott's birthday, mine and Cody's. Sprinkle in anniversaries, Mother and Father's Day. National holidays, then back to birthdays, Jeff's and Maura's and Owen's ...
We also do our traditional Italian family Sunday dinners. I love them best! It's one day for us all to get together and do what we do best, cook and eat! LOL We're always looking for old Italian recipes. If any of you have one to share, please post and I promise to make them.
This is one easy meatball recipe we enjoy
Meatballs
3.5 # ground beef / ground pork mixed
1 .0 oz. minced garlic5 oz. chopped basil
1 1/2cups Romano cheese
1 cup breadcrumb
8 tblsps. Milk (1/2 cup)
1 1/2 Tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Pepper
38 meatballs about 1-1/2"
Can be pan browned or baked at 350 for about 30 min.

So the summer is here. We are down to our small staff. Jerry lends a hand when needed. Tim is working his jobs in Connecticut, Erik is taking care of the houses he watches over, Sam is happy and working a full time job, Patrick is off to the CIA in New York learning how to be a world renowned chef and Jake is enjoying his little girl in Michigan,
With the extra time we have now, Scott gets to experiment. Today's experiment; grouper, prawns, crab cakes, scallops, topped with panko crumbs, seasoned with our Paradise Powder, a splash of white wine, butter and baked.

Almost 16 years ago I went to the gym for a work out. I left that day with a work out that would be with our family until May 29th. He was an adorable little Yorkie, who only answered to one name, Roger. He was the most courageous, determined, indestructible little furry being we would ever love. I apologize for being away, we where tending to our little old boy in what we came to see as his final days. He left quietly and quickly in my arms, although we are still grieving his passing, we'll all remember all the lessons he taught us. Be strong, be courageous, love your family, be passionate, be kind and forgiving, enjoy your food, and give lots of kisses. God knows, we need them.

For lunch the crew totally enjoyed the surprise package from our awesome friends Paul and Sandy. All the way from Chi town, they sent all kinds of Italian foods.
They know we have our traditional Sunday Italian dinners with the family, and we really miss having Sandy and Paul here. So Thank You both for the love. Come back to Marco soon.
