Ennis Seafood Welcome to our family-owned seafood business! We are a third-generation watermen family that fishes the Choptank River aboard the fishing vessel Ship of Fools.

We catch and sell crabs, soft crabs, and shelled oysters.

Time for some spring cleaning! We had the Ship of Fools pulled out today for some maintenance, cleaning and a fresh coat of bottom paint. Hopefully we can get everything done fast and be back in the water next week.
Warm weather is on the way and so are some delicious Choptank 🦀!

Each change of season requires a lot of heavy lifting and setting the up for the next season, it’s a tough job but a labor of love!

All we have left is our dipper and a new sun shade because our old top was tired and got damaged over winter.

Today we spent some time oiling the shafts before they go up for storage until next fall. Oiling the shafts protect them from bugs and help keep the wood protected.

Getting the shedding tanks started up! We start our soft crab tanks several weeks before the season so that the good bacteria have time to establish themselves in the filter! We use to help with the filtration of the water. From now to summer we will be constantly checking our water quality to ensure you get the best soft crabs!

Went to check on the boat today. We are definitely ready for warmer weather!
