• Strengthen the social fabric of the community by building awareness and appreciation for local agriculture;
• Enhance tourism and retail trade in Downtown Marion through spillover of market shoppers; and
• Foster entrepreneurial opportunities for small home-based business owners and youth. The Market Updates in the McDowell News continue to be a huge hit, but we need your recipes, especially family recipes, featuring in season produce. Eating local means eating in season. Although most of us our craving our first fresh tomato, there are alot of tasty root crops to be savored. There are interesting & tasty turnip varieties.
