This how we make pulling our plastic much easier. We use this implement it is called an under cutter, it loosens the soil. It saves us hours of labor.

New finger weeders. They really help getting the weeds that are in the row with the garlic 🧄.

Today we worked our future garlic field with a field cultivator, then we broadcast Sudan grass cover crop then rolled the field to give good seed to ground contact helping germination. We plant Sudan grass to add organic matter to the field. Then we will mow it down and incorporate. All these steps to give you the best garlic 🧄 we can grow.

This is our smaller garlic field. There are 8 different varieties here. Most will be saved to plant this fall. Feeling excited to try the new to us varieties.

We got our peppers and tomatoes 🍅 planted today.

Today we laid our plastic mulch for our family garden. We will be planting jalapeños bell peppers green and wax beans and Roma tomatoes 🍅! As my grandfather always said “ a crooked row always grows more😂.

With the low temps last night our asparagus froze. Mother Nature can be cruel but at the same time helpful. Mother Nature froze our asparagus and she-also froze the wild cucumber weeds that we’re growing in our garlic field. You have to take the good with the bad.
