Hey everyone, I want to share an important update regarding the direction of our rabbit program. This wasn’t an easy decision to make, but it’s one I’ve thought through deeply, and I know it is the right move for the long-term well-being of our animals.
Moving forward, our rabbits will only be available to other rabbitries, breeders, and homesteads. We will not be placing them in pet homes.
Everything we do here revolves around breeding with strict intent. Our primary focus is intentionally breeding for high-quality meat and pelt production- adhering to the mindset of keeping the absolute best and processing the rest. If you aren't comfortable with the reality of meat production, we completely understand and respect that, but we have found this to be an excellent, sustainable fit for our homestead.
This shift is ultimately what is best for the rabbits we bring into the world. Right now, there is a massive crisis with rabbits flooding rescues due to poor management practices, impulsive buying, and a lack of caution regarding where animals end up after they leave a property. By tightening our focus and only working with serious breeders and homesteaders, we are taking a firm ethical standpoint. It allows us to completely avoid overproduction, ensures every animal serves a purposeful role, and guarantees that our rabbits never end up neglected or abandoned down the road.
For fellow breeders looking to introduce specific traits, breeds, or colors into their lineage, I will still be thoughtfully placing top-tier stock. My ultimate goal is to continuously elevate the quality of the rabbits we have here at the farm.
To anyone who was hoping to bring home a pet from us, I am truly sorry for the disappointment. I deeply appreciate your understanding and support as we continue to manage this farm with intention and care.
