Our hearts are heavy today, but our determination is fierce. 💔🐑 Yesterday, we drove across the state to pick up 20 sheep coming from a heartbreaking situation. Their previous owner made poor choices and is facing prison time, and unfortunately, these innocent animals paid the price of that neglect.

When we first saw them, it truly broke our hearts. They are buried under massive, heavy, matted coats of overgrown wool, and they are desperately in need of good nutrition, dewormer, and vaccinations...but even through the dirt and neglect, we looked into their eyes and saw the beautiful souls underneath. Among them are a resilient ram and several sweet, innocent babies who deserve a far better start to life than this.

It is going to be a long, exhausting road to get these girls and their babies back to health, but we promise you this: we are going to do everything in our power to give them the beautiful turnaround they deserve.

We can’t do it alone. We are rolling up our sleeves and starting the massive job of shearing and vaccinating tomorrow. If you have a heart for animals and an extra set of hands to lend, we could truly use your help.❤️‍🩹

Please drop a comment or send us a message if you can join us tomorrow. And even if you can't make it, please keep this flock in your thoughts. Stay tuned over the next few months - we can’t wait to show you their transformations! ✨

Spending some time today to get all the little ones out for a wellness check, and some handling time.

Here are two from our most recent litters - They are born the same day, from the same buck (Gizmo), out of two different does (Camellia & Buttercup)

Which one is your favorite? 💜

Great news! Ellie's hoof is healing up well, and she is sound! 🖤 The day after hauling her up to the fairgrounds for the first time, she blew a nasty absess that cracked her hoof. After a hoof trim, meds and some rest - she's quite literally back on her feet. 💖

🌟 Horse of the Week: Kanta 🌟

Sometimes, the horses you intend to help end up being the ones who change you the most. That’s exactly what happened with our sweet Arabian boy, Kanta.

If you’ve been following our journey, you know Kanta came to us late 2024 from a hoarding case across the country, thanks to the incredible team at Stone Valley's Ray of Hope Equine Rescue. He arrived alongside his best friend, Lela, as a young, scared stud c**t. We thought we were just signing up for a temporary foster; a little bit of halter training, some socialization, and helping him learn to be an independent horse.

But Kanta had other plans! By the end of his very first day, he was already wearing a halter and a turnout sheet, looking at us with those soulful, trusting eyes as if to say, "I’m ready."

Watching him grow has been the honor of a lifetime. Since being gelded and starting his training, he hasn’t missed a beat. He took to the surcingle, the saddle, and his first mount last summer like he was born to do it. We fell in love with him so deeply that "fostering" didn't feel right anymore. We officially adopted him last summer, and he is now a permanent, cherished part of our farm family.

From a rescue case to our forever partner, Kanta has shown us so much about resilience and trust. We couldn't imagine life at the farm without his beautiful "red-born gray" face greeting us every morning.

A Note on Visiting Our Farm 🚜

We love sharing our farm with you. Watching kids and families connect with our animals is one of the best parts of what we do. But because our animals are our family, we need to be very clear about how to interact with them safely.

** Please, do not touch or feed any of our animals without asking us first.**

This isn't just about manners; it’s about survival. We have lost animals to well-meaning visitors who didn't realize that feeding a rabbit or a horse the "wrong" treat - even just a handful of grass, can trigger life-threatening bloat. We’ve seen it happen, and it is a devastating, painful way to lose an animal. We never want to experience that again, and we know you wouldn’t want to be the cause of it, either.
Beyond feeding, biosecurity is a serious reality for us. When you move from pen to pen, you can carry bacteria and viruses on your hands or clothes that your own pets might carry, or that you’ve picked up elsewhere. It can take only one bad interaction to make an entire herd sick.
We aren't trying to keep you away; we just need you to be our partners in protecting them.

➡️Here is how you can help us keep everyone safe:
• Always ask before you touch. Some of our animals are in quarantine, some are recovering from injury, and others simply don't like being touched. We know exactly who is happy to be petted and who needs their space.

• Never give them a "snack" without us. If you want to treat an animal, ask! We will happily provide you with the safe, approved, and measured options that won't make them sick.

• Supervise your children at all times. Our animals are living, breathing, and sometimes unpredictable creatures. Please make sure children are within arm's reach and know that we treat our animals with gentle, quiet respect.

When you arrive, just find one of us and ask! We would love to introduce you to the ones who enjoy the attention. ❤️

Thank you for respecting the realities of our farm life. We’re so happy to have you here.

Good morning, Frenchline family! ☀️

Yesterday, we welcomed a new trio of roosters to the farm. It is absolutely fascinating to look at these three boys side-by-side, despite them all being sired by the same Ayam Cemani father, they couldn't look more different!

Genetics shows us yet again just how mysterious and fun this process can be. It’s like nature’s own puzzle.. you never quite know what pieces you’re going to get until they show up! We are looking forward to adding these boys to our bachelor flock and seeing what they can produce in the future. Honestly, having these guys around has me feeling a bit like a mad scientist! 🧬🐔

What about you all? What kind of fun projects or breeding plans does everyone else have on the agenda for this week?
