It’s finally happening… MELON DAYS! 🍈🍉

We’re so excited to finally have multiple melons ready for the stand at the same time! After watching these grow for what feels like forever, it’s pretty exciting to see them making their way from the vines to the farm stand. ❤️

We’ll have honeydew and watermelon going out today, along with plenty of other garden goodies:

🥒 Zucchini
🫛 Green beans
🍅 Cherry tomatoes
🥔 Yukon Gold potatoes
🎃 Acorn squash & Butternut squash
🥒 Pickling cucumbers & slicing cucumbers

And, of course, we’ll keep adding things as they’re harvested and ready!

It makes us so happy to be able to share what we’re growing with our neighbors. Thank you for supporting our little farm! 🌱❤️

🍉🍈 MELON SEASON IS HERE AT KDL FINGER FARMS! 🍈🍉

We’ve been waiting for this one — our watermelons are finally starting to ripen, and we’ve begun harvesting them! We’ll be putting them at our farm stand as they reach that perfect stage.

Our first watermelon was a MAMMOTH 22 pounds! Unfortunately, it was taken from the stand before anyone could enjoy it, but we’re excited to say there are plenty more growing. ❤️

And the watermelons are just the beginning — our honeydew and cantaloupe are coming along and should be ready shortly!

While we wait for more melons to ripen, we have plenty of other fresh produce available:

🥔 Yukon Gold potatoes
🫛 Green beans
🥒 Zucchini
🍅 Cherry tomatoes
🎃 Acorn squash as it ripens

Everything is grown right here on our small family farm in Marshall, Wisconsin. Our stand is open from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM every day.

We think our first watermelon is ready!

After watching this one grow for weeks, we're pretty excited to say that our first big watermelon is showing all the signs that it's ready to come off the vine. The tendril has dried up and the spot underneath has turned a beautiful creamy color, so we're planning to harvest it and put it out at the farm stand tomorrow morning!

🍉 Can you find all the watermelons hiding in the 3rd picture? Hint - there are at least 4!

We're also excited about how the rest of the garden is coming along. Our acorn squash are fully maturing, and we're continuing to harvest fresh Yukon Gold potatoes, green beans, and tomatoes.

If you're in the Marshall area, there's some fresh produce at the stand and tomorrow you may find our first homegrown watermelon of the season waiting for you!

It's been a challenging growing season with the heat, drought and storms we've had, so seeing this watermelon finally reach harvest is especially exciting for our little family farm.

🌱 FRESH FROM KDL FINGER FARMS — THURSDAY FARM STAND UPDATE! 🌱

Our little farm stand is looking especially colorful this morning! 🍅🥒🥔 We’ve been harvesting and stocking up, and there’s a nice variety waiting for you today.

Here’s what you’ll find at the stand:

🍅 LOTS of cherry tomatoes
🥔 Yukon Gold potatoes
🥒 Zucchini
🥒 Snacking & pickling cucumbers
🥬 Fresh green beans
🎃 Acorn squash
🧅 A few white & yellow onions
🌱 One bag of sugar snap peas

And there’s something we’re REALLY excited about… 🍉

Our first big watermelons are getting close! We have a beautiful large watermelon growing that is showing all the signs that harvest is getting closer. I’m including posting a picture of it because we think it’s going to be a good one! Once it reaches that perfect ripe stage, it’ll make its way to the farm stand,. Others are very close behind it!❤️

After waiting all season, we’re finally getting close to MELON SEASON! Our cantaloupes and honeydew are growing like crazy in the greenhouse, and we can’t wait to start sharing them with you.

If you’re nearby, stop out this morning or sometime today and grab some fresh produce for dinner, snacking, or preserving.

We’re stocked up at KDL Finger Farms and ready for a fresh week!

🥔 Fresh Yukon Gold potatoes — freshly dug and SO good!
🥒 LOTS of zucchini — we have plenty!

Everything is locally grown right here on our farm and ready to take home for dinner, grilling, snacking, or stocking up for the week!

Our greenhouse watermelons, honeydew, and cantaloupes are growing like crazy, and we're getting closer to harvest! They're not quite ready yet, but they're definitely something to keep an eye on. 🍈❤️

🌱 SUNDAY AT KDL FINGER FARMS — A LITTLE FARM UPDATE! 🌱

If you’ve stopped by our farm stand lately, you’ve probably noticed that the harvest is changing quickly. Some crops are winding down while others are just getting started—and there’s A LOT happening behind the scenes!

🍈 THE MELONS ARE GOING CRAZY! 🍈

Our greenhouse is becoming a jungle of vines, and we are so excited about what’s growing! Our cantaloupes are climbing the trellis and some of the watermelons are getting HUGE. 🍈❤️

We’ve been experimenting with growing some of our melons vertically this year, using trellises and homemade fabric slings to support the fruit as it grows. It’s been a learning experience, but seeing those big, beautiful melons hanging from the vines makes it all worth it!

They’re not quite ready yet—but fresh, homegrown cantaloupe, honeydew and watermelons are coming soon to the farm stand! We can’t wait to share them with you.

🌽 A QUICK NOTE ABOUT OUR SWEET CORN

Our small sweet corn harvest has officially come to an end for the year. This crop was a tough one for us. The severe wind and hail storms earlier this summer damaged a large portion of our corn, but we were grateful to salvage what we could and share those ears with you.

The good news? We’ve already got plans for next year! 🌽

We’ve learned a lot from this year's storms and are going to make some changes to our planting strategy to give our corn a better chance of standing strong. We’re hoping to come back next summer with a MUCH bigger and stronger crop!

🥔 IN THE MEANTIME, THERE’S STILL PLENTY AT THE STAND!

Today we have:
• Fresh Yukon Gold potatoes
• Green beans
• Lots of zucchini
• Acorn squash
• Cherry tomatoes
• And more depending on the day!

We’re so grateful for everyone who has stopped by, shared our posts, recommended us to a neighbor, or simply supported our little farm this summer. ❤️

This is only our second full year growing and running the stand, and we’re learning something new every day. We’re already dreaming about next year’s garden—but for now, we’re going to enjoy every harvest we can bring you this season!

We wanted to share a quick update from KDL Finger Farms for anyone looking for fresh, locally grown produce this week.

We have our FIRST acorn squash of the season at our self-serve farm stand today!

We also have a very limited supply of sweet corn — only about 30 ears. Our corn crop was hit pretty hard by the extreme wind and hail storms this summer, but thankfully we were able to salvage a small batch. If you’ve been waiting for local sweet corn, we’d love to see you grab some while it lasts!

Our stand is also stocked with:

• Freshly harvested Yukon Gold potatoes
• Green beans
• Zucchini
• Cherry tomatoes
• Pickling & snacking cucumbers
• Sugar snap peas
• White & yellow onions
• Acorn squash
• Limited sweet corn

We also have farm-fresh eggs available. They aren’t kept at the stand, but just send us a message or stop by the house if you’d like some.
