VENDOR SPOTLIGHT

🫜🧅✨️ Holderby Family Gardens ✨️🧄🥬

Ron started Holderby Family Gardens a few years after he officially retired from his full time job.

After sitting around for a few months, transitioning into the retirement life, he realized he needed something to do. He volunteered at a local farm for 5 days a week, learning gardening techniques, plant requirements, soil amendments, all the things that make him the gardening genius he is today. After volunteering for a few years, he decided to put his knowledge to the test. And Holderby Family Gardens was born.

With gardening his own land for over 10 years, and growing produce on over half an acre of their property, it is safe to say that Ron and his wife Anitra try to have the best greens, root veggies, and seasonal produce available for you.

Lettuce, onions, kale, kolorabi, okra, tomatoes, peppers of all kinds, garlic, carrots, cabbage, beets, radishes, squash, zucchini, and more.... everything is grown on the farm by Ron. You can tell just by his produce that he genuinely loves what he does.

We asked him his favorite part, and he said growing the plants and harvesting the produce is his passion, but the real treat is interacting with all his customers, regular and new.

His tips are as follows:

🌱 If you plant something and maybe it doesn't grow, dont give up. Maybe add a little more compost, read some books, keep trying until you find what works for you.

🌱 Don't be afraid to ask questions because we would love to share what works for us or what might help you.

Holderby's are at Fair Grove market on Wednesdays, but you can see them here in Marshfield every Friday from 2:30pm-6:30pm at our Farmers Market. We are very grateful to have him and his family at our market.

So be sure to come out and grab some veggies and maybe get some pointers from Ron this week!

We can't wait to see you at the Farmers' Market! 👩‍🌾🧑‍🌾

What a way to celebrate yesterday! We had a record turnout but it would not be possible without all the farmers and vendors who participate in our Market!

These vendors work so hard to bring you fresh produce that they grow on their farm, freshly baked goods out of their kitchens, or hand made crafts that they sew, crochet, or make with their hands. Countless hours and preparations go into everything you see when you shop. So this celebration wasn't just for our communtiy, but also for our vendors who make the Marshfield Farmers' Market possible. THANK YOU!

If you didn't visit yesterday, you missed out!

Our Watermelon Seed Spitting Winner was Joe spitting the seed a whole 24 feet and 5 inches! Huge thank you to The Melon Man - Marshfield, Missouri for donating the prize and the watermelon for the contest! 2nd Place went to Kelli & 3rd place went to Bubba!

Our Largest Homegrown Tomato Winner was Nels with the most beautiful tomato weighing in at 27.1 ounces! He can pick up his prize next week. 2nd place went to Shelly with a gorgeous 20.8 ounce tomato.

Thank you to the Classic Cars and Trucks that came, Marshfield Fire Protection District for the firetruck that every child enjoyed, and to Marshfield Machinery Company Inc. for the tractor that drew in many little boys!

Thank you to the POP Program for giving the kids a fun scavenger hunt. They were pretty competitive!

Thank you to our community for choosing to shop from your local farmers & producers! We will be back next Friday. Have a great weekend! 😃👩‍🌾🧑‍🌾

Vendor Spotlight

✨️ Taste of Freedom ✨️

Sister business to Freedom Farms, the base of the business is the same. The start however, is a little different.

Joe & Kelli began Taste of Freedom in the early year of 2025 due to their family enjoys lemonades, but it was hard to find a lemonade that didn’t have dyes or extra sugar and other added ingredients that just aren’t necessary. So, they started making their own, and the journey begun.

They did their research and found Monin Syrups are dye free! Taste of Freedom have a Monk fruit simple syrup for those with diabetes, and they can also make your lemonade half as sweet as normal.
But they’re talents aren’t limited to just lemonades, they also make limeades, teas, & dirty sodas! 🍋

Here are a few of their favorite flavors:
Family Favorite: Lemonade with Blueberry & Cherry Syrup
Kelli Signature: Lemonade with Peach & Mango Syrup
Joe Signature: Lemon-Limeade with Strawberry & Peach syrup
Cherry Tart: Lemon-Limeade with half the sugar & Tart Cherry Syrup & tart cherries
Pink Monkey: Limeade with Banana & Strawberry Syrup

With over 20 different flavors and countless flavor combinations, they are sure to have one just for you! Be sure to go see them this Friday if you want to try a classic, hand squeezed Lemon or Limeade. Or, add whatever combination sounds good to you! We are so happy to have them, especially in the hot summer months!
