There’s Wildsmith’s plans and then there’s life’s plans, and life said “hard stop.” 🍂🥀

While we’re happy to welcome a new month, it’s bringing quite a few changes to Wildsmith — some planned, and some much more unexpected than others. The 2026 flower season for Wildsmith Farms officially (and abruptly) ends today.

To be transparent, my health has thrown us quite the unexpected curveball and I’ll be undergoing multiple surgeries this month. With that, it’s simply not possible for us to continue offering flowers this year.

For those who don’t know, I have lupus, and navigating autoimmune health has been part of why we began making changes in how we eat and how we grow. It’s one of the reasons our commitment to growing organically and being mindful of our impact on the environment has always mattered so much to us 🌿

This certainly wasn’t part of the plan, but sometimes life has a way of rearranging things for us.

We’re choosing to see this as an opportunity to slow down, reassess the future of Wildsmith, and become more intentional about what its next chapter looks like.

While the flower stand may be quiet for a little while, Wildsmith won’t be disappearing. We’ll still be sharing little bits of the farm, the animals, the growing, the making, and whatever else is happening around here as my health allows — and the flowers will be back come tulip season 🌷🌷🌷

2026 has been our best season yet, and we’re so incredibly grateful for each and every one of you. But apparently, the next chapter needed a plot twist. Maybe this pause is exactly what we needed to become more intentional about what comes next 🍂✨

Thank you for growing alongside us, cheering us on, and giving us the space to let Wildsmith evolve while I prioritize my health.

With so much love and gratitude,

— Sunshine 🌞

Hard to believe it’s the LAST day of August 🌻

Somehow summer flew by in a blur of blooms, muddy boots, long days, little adventures, and more growing than we ever seem to realize while we’re in the middle of it.

Tomorrow we turn the page to a new month — and you can feel the season beginning to shift 🍂

Here’s to September bringing a little more slowing down, a little more getting outside, and plenty of good things still growing.

From our little corner of Wildsmith, we hope you have a beautiful week as we step into a brand new month 🧡🌾

Happy September Eve, y’all!

🌩️ Congratulations, Jenn Canady! 🌩️

Jenn was the very first to guess the correct answer: STORM! 🩶

Our sweet 6-year-old mare truly weathered the storm before finding herself at Wildsmith Farms.

Storm was captured in the Skedaddle Mountains of California and came to us from the Twin Peaks Herd Management Unit. She was rounded by helicopters and spent 22 months in holding before arriving to Georgia for adoption.

And now, we hope this little piece of land can be the rainbow after the storm for the rest of her life🌈🩶

She deserves a soft landing, a safe place to exist, and a life where she never has to wonder where she’s going next.

Jenn, your winning bouquet will be available for Farmstand pickup anytime tomorrow or Sunday after 7 AM! 💐

Welcome home, Storm. 🐎🌩️🌈

Thanks to everyone who participated in our giveaways! And thank you to those who support our small farm — your support helps make offering our farm as a sanctuary for these living legends a possibility.

The riddle:

I wasn’t born into an easy story.

I knew the freedom of the open range,
but I also knew the hardships that came with it.

Then one day, everything changed.

I was captured.
Taken from the only life I had ever known.
Displaced. Confused. Asked to trust a world I didn’t understand.

I’ve known uncertainty.
I’ve known fear.
I’ve known what it means to endure when you don’t get to choose what comes next.

But I kept going.

I weathered the hard seasons.
I stood through the things I couldn’t control.
And somehow, I made it to the other side.

Now I’ve traded survival for softness.
Hard days for open fields.
Uncertainty for gentle hands and a place to belong.

The past may always be part of my story.

But it doesn’t have to be the ending.

Today, I get to start again.
And Wildsmith gets to be the place where I do it 🌈🩶

So… who am I? 👀

🌴🐴 WE HAVE A WINNER! 🐴🌴

Congratulations to Karen Elizabeth Glennon, who was the VERY FIRST person to correctly guess the name of our Palomino from California…

☀️ MALIBU! ☀️

Y’all came in HOT with the guesses! So many were pulled straight from the clues — from California’s most famous Palomino, Trigger (Roy Rogers’ legendary horse), to Barbie’s various horses and vintage characters like Tawny, Dallas, Tornado, and more.

And apparently the name Sunshine was the crowd favorite… which honestly surprised me considering that’s MY name 🤣🌞

But nope. This golden boy whom has quickly become the apple of my eye is officially Malibu 🌴✨

And now… ROUND TWO 🩶🐴

Keep your eyes peeled for the next post later today, solve the riddle to figure out our gray mare’s name, and you’ll have another chance to win a Wildsmith bouquet! 👀💐

Childhood dreams? Check ✨

Midlife crisis? Probably ✅

Best enabling husband on the planet? Absolutely 💯

Do we ever actually know what we’re doing? Usually not 🤣

But what I do know is that I now have a Palomino Mustang — something I have dreamed about since I was four years old.

We spent so many years doing what we were supposed to do. Worrying about what made sense. What was considered practical... or acceptable.

But living a life where we look at each other and go,

“Why the heck not?!”

…is absolutely freeing. Life gets so much better once reaching a point where you truly realize that you’re allowed to do things simply because you want to, and that there’s no one to stop you but you.

And I am ridiculously lucky to have a husband who doesn’t just tolerate every wild idea I have — he does everything he can to help make them come true.

We may not always know what we’re doing… but we figure it out together.

Always.

So anyways, meet my longest lived childhood dream, finally made reality as a new member of Wildsmith Farms… with more details and surprises to come ❤️

What’s a childhood dream you’d still love to make a reality? 👀🥰
