Sara's Kitchen I don't claim to be a fantastic chef. Hell, for the past several years, I was a heat-it-up kind of cook. I cooked, but I wasn't really cooking.

By that I mean: veggies were frozen or canned; sides were quick to whip up; meat was marinated or preseasoned. Then there was the quality of the food we were eating... I thought I was doing all right on a health scale from one-to-ten. I knew I could do better, but I thought there was no way I could afford to feed my family healthier foods. Besides, they wouldn't like it anyway... Boy was I wrong!

My family is not vegan, but pretty close. Sometimes a little Parmesan cheese will sneak it's way into a meal. When we eat out, I have a sort of "anything goes" attitude toward what the girls and my husband eat. At home, nearly all our meals are plant-based, whole foods. But it's an ever changing journey and the deeper I go, the deeper I want to go! I'm still learning - A LOT!! And that's why I wanted to start this page. To share what I'm learning with others. Because, honestly, I'm really excited about what we eat. Who woulda thunk that food could be so much fun!?
