Calling all Early Birds!

The Matthews Community Farmers’ Market is looking for a few early birds to help with our Fruit Fundraiser on Saturday mornings. 🍑🍎

We especially need volunteers who can help between 6:30–7:45am sorting and packing fruit before the market opens.

And honestly? It’s one of the best shifts at the market.

Our early morning volunteers get to know the farmers and vendors personally, see the market wake up before the crowds arrive, sneak in a little early shopping before the opening bell rings, and when available, often head home with a complimentary bag of fundraiser fruit as a thank you.

It’s a fun crew, the work goes quickly, and you’ll be helping support the market and our nonprofit programs at the same time.

Thanks to an incredible partnership with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Food Policy Council, we’re offering TRIPLE BUCKS at the market this week - 5/9 - only.

If you use SNAP/EBT, bring your card to the Info Booth and we’ll triple your dollars, up to $50 per customer. That means more fresh fruits and vegetables, more local food, and more support for our farmers.

This is one of the simplest ways to stretch your grocery budget while bringing home high-quality, locally grown food.

Johnny Pops are back for the season, our vendor feature this week is Blue Goat Dairy, and the market is full of fresh produce, local meat, baked goods, flowers, coffee, and all the little things that make Saturday mornings the best day of the week. 💚

☔️ Rain might be in the forecast, but we’re still on for a full and vibrant market this Saturday. Our farmers, makers, and bakers are showing up with everything you count on, fresh produce, local meats, baked goods, flowers, pottery, and more.

If you’ve been thinking about coming, this is your reminder to just do it. Grab a rain jacket, bring a tote, and come see us. The market is one of those places that feels good no matter the weather.
