They’re socializing pretty well with the adult birds so far, doing well with acclimating.. I’m still surprised all six lived I can’t lie 🤣 still not sure who’s a rooster and who’s a hen- but we will find out soon enough and then replace them with pullets when we get the opportunity!
They’re still on chick starter crumbles for now, baby chick grit, and fresh water of course, boosted with probios or electrolytes a couple times a week-
Today we clean their coop out for the week and next weekend hopefully we can move them into the run. Just in time for the upgrade!

Good morning y’all! Back at it today, gonna clean the babies coop and get some more work done on the barn today, that’s the plan! Making progress so I can’t complain!

I’m pretty sure this hen has adopted the babies she never leaves them alone when they’re out and constantly talks to them, soon we will try supervised turn out once the baby chicks learn to come when called 🫠 (taking any advice on that!)

Took the day to relax since it’s scorching 🥵 outside! Just got some stuff done around the house, caught up on laundry, planning pasta attempt #2 , unpacking more boxes that I’ve ignored for to long…

Almost finished with this barn , we keep saying to ourselves.. lately I think it’s become a version of “just keep swimming” as chaotic as things got there for a min it was the thing keeping us grounded 🤣
Now I’m wondering what next? No I’m not. The henhouse. That’s next.
Tomorrow is Friday; thankfully! Then the weekend!! Woo hoo!!

Well we are at the point at the barn where we are doing finishing touches and clean up, a couple panels of siding, and finish stalls and put the metal roof panels on. Then it’s all just getting it set up for the girls to come home! Speaking of the girls; I got update pics of my baby horse today, she’s filled out a lot and I’m very pleased!!(photos) I can’t wait to meet her next month!!
