Khalisa Taylor has been fortunate to call Western North Carolina home since the mid-1970s, where she cares for 64 acres of land. During her early years on the property, she grew bell peppers as a cash crop, which inspired the name Pepperland Farm. She has a deep love for the outdoors and a strong respect for nature and the planet.
Her growing space includes a 30’ x 70’ outdoor vegetable garden, a 16’ x 50’ greenhouse, numerous flower beds, and established blueberry plants, all maintained using organic gardening practices.
Over the years, Khalisa has grown much of the food used in the children’s camps she operated, sharing a connection to the land with younger generations. More recently, she has focused her time and energy on cultivating a variety of daylilies, daffodils, and irises alongside seasonal produce. Any extra harvest is carefully processed and sold at the Twin Cities Farmers Market.
As a dog parent who loves to bake, Khalisa also offers dog treats, cookies, muffins, and other baked goods. She is grateful to be part of a community that values shopping locally, sustainability, and thoughtfully produced food and flowers.
