Fall calving season is in full swing and we just got a pretty exciting surprise…

Our first set of twins for the season — and they’re BOTH HEIFERS! 😍

Twin calves are relatively rare, occurring in less than 5% of cattle births. So when you walk out and find TWO healthy calves with one mama, it’s definitely a moment worth celebrating!

The tendency for a cow to release two eggs during breeding can be influenced by genetics, her overall health, and nutrition. That’s where good herd management comes into play.

Here at Grace’s Family Farm, we pay close attention to all three. We select our Angus genetics with the long term health and productivity of the herd in mind, keep our cows on a rotational grazing program, and make sure they have access to quality pasture and proper nutrition throughout the year.

Healthy cows + good genetics + good management = giving those calves the best start we can.

And this year, apparently, one of our girls decided two was better than one! 😂

We’re pretty excited to watch these two little heifers grow. 💚

Not all beef sticks, hot dogs, and summer sausages are created equal.

When you grab one of our hot dogs, sweet bologna, summer sausages or Angus beef sticks, you’re getting something a little different.

We don’t start with the cheapest cuts, mystery imported trimmings or whatever beef happens to be available.

We start with ONE premium steer.

Our beef is 100% U.S. born and raised — right here in Fulton County, PA. 🇺🇸

That means the beef going into our products started its life on our farm, was raised by our family, and was selected for the same quality we want on our own dinner table.

Because when we hear talk about bringing in cheaper imported beef, it makes us even more determined to show you what American family farm beef can be.

Born here. Raised here. Made here. 🇺🇸

And yes… that makes for one heck of a hot dog 💚

There’s a lot more behind our Angus beef than just a good looking steak. 🥩

Our Black Angus cattle are born and raised right here on our farms in Fulton County, PA, where Jeff and JJ are involved in their care from the day they’re born.

We’ve spent years selecting genetics with a purpose — marbling, large ribeyes, good growth, and cattle that perform well on our farm. We want an Angus steak that looks good in the package AND delivers when it hits the grill. 🔥

But we don’t select for beef quality alone.

We also put a strong emphasis on docile cattle and maternal traits, including easy calving. Cattle with a calm temperament are easier and safer to handle, and cows that can calve efficiently and raise a healthy calf are valuable members of our herd.

That’s where the “working for us” part comes in. Our genetics have to prove themselves here on our farm, under our management and in our environment.

No cattle trucked in from who-knows-where. No mystery behind where they came from.

Born here. Raised here. Selected here.

And when you buy our Angus beef, you’re getting the result of years of breeding decisions, pasture management, and two generations of Jeff and JJ putting in the work.

That’s farm-to-table you can actually trace back to the farm. 💚🇺🇸

Back to school season calls for easy meals!

We made these super easy chicken patties last night, and the recipe came from our good friends, The Jansons. We doubled the recipe so we’d have leftovers. Because tomorrow we wanted a break from figuring out dinner. 😂

JJ’s no Guy Fieri, but he did manage to get a 10/10 from one of the Grace Girls, so we’re calling that a win! 🥳

And honestly, we can see all kinds of possibilities with these: shape them into fancy nuggets, turn them into chicken parm, or get a little ambitious and make chicken cordon bleu.

Easy Chicken Patties:

* 1 lb. Grace’s Family Farm ground chicken
* 1 large egg (we used 2 per batch to help with the extra moisture from the ground chicken)
* ½ cup shredded cheese
* ½ cup Italian bread crumbs
* Salt, pepper & whatever seasonings you love—garlic salt, paprika, etc.

How to make them:
Mix everything together. Using an ice cream scoop, place the mixture into Italian bread crumbs and coat well. Place on a baking sheet, then carefully flatten and shape.

Bake at 400°F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Bake on a cast iron cookie sheet for that extra crisp!

Easy, kid approved and perfect for those nights when everyone is busy 💚

Looks like we’re raising another jokester. 😂

This might look like just two eggs in a nest box, but folks… there’s a whole lot more to this story.

We turned some hens loose to eat the spilled feed, catch some bugs, and enjoy retirement. Well, apparently retirement meant laying eggs in the grain cart and all over the ground. 🙄

So we put an unused nest box in the barn, right by the grain cart.

A week goes by… not a single egg in the nest box.

Then our youngest Grace Girl looks at her dumb dad and says, “Dad, you need hay or straw in there for them to lay in there.” 😂

So she proceeds to put some hay in the nest box.

The next day, she beats Dad into the barn yelling, “DAD! DAD! LOOK!!!”

He walked in and saw TWO EGGS sitting pretty in the nest box. He was all excited: “Great job!!!”

That’s when she starts rolling laughing. 😒😂

Turns out, she had planned the whole thing. She’d already told her Pap what she was doing, then sat back and waited for dumb old Dad to walk right into the trap.

Hook, line, and sinker. 😂

She was prouder than a peacock, and honestly… She got him good 💚

Happy Honey Bee Day! 🥳 Today, we’re celebrating the hardworking honey bees that make one of nature’s sweetest gifts!

Our raw honey is made with care and offers that delicious, naturally rich honey flavor we love. Every jar is a little reminder of just how much work goes into what the bees create. From flower to hive to your table.

These little pollination powerhouses help fertilize the flowers and plants that produce many of the fruits, vegetables, and grains we enjoy every day. They’re essential to healthy ecosystems, and they do it all one tiny flower at a time.

We appreciate their bee-utiful work and without them, we’d all be in a bit of a sticky situation! 💚

Our Ground Turkey is finally here! And trust us… it was worth the wait 🥳

Just like our ground chicken, it’s a 50/50 blend of breast and thigh meat, giving you all the flavor and juiciness without all the extras. Because when it comes to what we feed our families and ourselves, only the best 💚

And the possibilities are endless… homemade meatballs, taco Tuesdays, turkey burgers, a big pot of chili, easy breakfast or salad bowls.

Basically, if a recipe calls for ground meat, our ground turkey can probably do the job 😉

And because we know freezer organization is a love language… every package is vacuum sealed in approximately 1 lb portions. Easy to grab, easy to thaw, easy to turn into dinner 💚

Today, we’re feeling especially thankful for all the farmers markets, the wonderful people who shop and buy local, and everyone who has supported us along the way.

What started as a way to raise a few more cows has turned into so much more. Along the way, we’ve made countless friendships, met some truly amazing people, and become part of a community that means more to us than we could have ever imagined.

A very special thank you today to our good friend Bill and the Mainstreet Waynesboro, Inc. team. Almost ten years ago, they took a chance on a young fella and gave him an opportunity to become a vendor — an opportunity that helped him chase his initial goal of raising a few more cows.

We never could have imagined where that little dream would lead.

To Bill, the Mainstreet Waynesboro team, every farmers market that has welcomed us, and every single person who has stopped by, purchased something, shared a kind word, or simply cheered us on — we thank you. 💚

Your support has helped turn a small dream into something we never thought possible.

Here’s to farmers, local markets, small businesses, and the incredible people who keep them going.

Thank you for believing in us! 💚
