Dear friends
Thanks for checking out our page!
Well it's another new month and all is well at our house.
I got to thinking that it would be interesting to ya'll to talk about a different herb 🌿 for each month as long as I'm able.
For February we're going to talk about an herb I started taking, called horsetail or shavegrass.
This is an amazing herb 🌿 because of all it's health benefits!
Here's what all I found out about it:
First of all, it contains antioxidant and anti-inflammatory chemicals!
It's used for fluid retention or edema, kidney and bladder stones and general disturbances of the kidney and bladder, urinary tract infections, and incontinence (inability to control urination). It can also be used for: balding, tuberculosis, jaundice, hepatitis, brittle nails, joint diseases, gout, osteoporosis, weak bones (osteoporosis), osteoarthritis, frost bite, weight loss, heavy menstrual periods, and uncontrolled bleeding (hemorrhage) of the nose, lungs, or stomach etc., by coagulating the blood, for skin and eye conditions, glandular swelling, fever, nervous tension, strengthening the heart and lungs, speedy healing of fractured bones, for bed wetting, gall bladder disease, skin diseases, muscle cramps and spasms and rickets.
And for external use, it can be placed in a poultice for bleeding wounds, ulcers, and burns.
WARNING: because this herb can irritate the kidneys and intestines after a longer period of use, it should only be taken continuously for 2-3 weeks. But after 1 week of not taking it, it can be taken again.
Also if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, you're an alcoholic, or a diabetic or have low potassium levels it may work like a water pill and decrease the lithium in the body.
So now you understand why I said that it is such an amazing herb.
Hope to see you all back in our new location.
Also, we're still making those yummy 😋 smoothies here!
