Wagyu Pot Roast with Hamm’s Hickory Seasoning
Time to elevate that pot roast game! We're diving into a rich, savory world where Wagyu meets the delightful flavors of Hamm’s Hickory seasoning. Grab a glass and let’s get cooking!
Ingredients:
3-4 lbs Wagyu chuck roast
2 tablespoons Hamm’s Hickory seasoning
4 large carrots, cut into 2-inch pieces
4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into quarters
2 large onions, quartered
4 cups Hamm’s homemade beef stock
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh thyme or rosemary sprigs (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). The low heat is key to getting that Wagyu tender.
Season the roast liberally with Hamm’s Hickory seasoning, salt, and pepper. Don't be shy; this is flavor town!
Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven or heavy pot over medium-high heat. Sear the Wagyu roast on all sides until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side. This step builds that beautiful crust and flavor.
Add the onions to the pot after searing the roast, cooking them until they start to brown, about 3-4 minutes. Then, throw in those carrots and potatoes, giving them a good stir.
Pour in the beef stock carefully, scraping up any brown bits from the bottom of the pot. These bits are flavor gold!
Return the roast to the pot, making sure it’s mostly submerged in that delicious broth. Bring it to a simmer.
Cover the pot with a lid and transfer it to the preheated oven. Let it braise for about 3 to 4 hours, or until the Wagyu is fork-tender. The magic happens here, folks.
Once done, remove the pot from the oven. Rest the roast for about 15-20 minutes before slicing. Use a little of that broth to drizzle over the slices for added flavor.
Serve with the carrots and potatoes, and garnish with fresh herbs if you fancy.
There you have it! A Wagyu pot roast that’s as tender as a Texas sunset, packed with flavor from Hamm’s Hickory seasoning. Enjoy with a stiff drink and some good company!
