VENDOR HIGHLIGHT: Kristin Hill W**ery

We’re excited to welcome Kristin Hill W**ery to the McMinnville Farmers Market!

Kristin Hill grows a beautiful selection of w**e grapes, including Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Gamay, Tempranillo, Teroldego and more. They also produce finished w**es for the public and provide grapes to other Oregon w**eries.

And if you’re looking for a market favorite, be sure to ask about their Sparkling Chardonnay made in a c***r style, it’s a refreshing surprise for everyone who tries it!

A Family Legacy in Oregon W**e

We’ll let the Rasmussen family tell you the rest of their story in their own words:

“Kristin Hill W**ery was brought to life by Eric & Linda Aberg. In the 1980’s they retired from the US Military and began a search for the ideal place to start their dream of growing and producing German style w**es. This led to them purchasing the property north of Amity and planting their first acre of Gewurztraminer in 1985. In the next 12 years they planted 26 acres of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. Their legacy also includes being one of the founding members of the Eola Amity hills AVA.

Dave and Briana Rasmussen, owners of Purple Cow Vineyards/W**ery and VinTyr W**es, as newlyweds wanted to bring their brands into one location and further their expansion into traditional Oregon varietals. The Kristin Hill Vineyard property offered this opportunity. This property has a large enough facility to handle all 3 brands and custom production.

The Rasmussen Family expands upon the Aberg’s legacy by keeping the Kristin Hill W**ery Brand. Kristin Hill W**ery produces traditional German and Oregon w**es with the unique styles of the Rasmussen Family. In 2020 the w**emaking family expanded with the addition of Soren Rasmussen joining the team and adding his own unique w**es.

This multi generation Family business is creating amazing award-winning w**es and keeping with Estate family vineyard living.

We look forward to your visit.

-The Rasmussens”

The Kristin Hill team also loves being part of the McMinnville Farmers Market and especially enjoys meeting visitors from out of town who are exploring our community and Oregon w**e country.

Come say hello and discover Kristin Hill W**ery at the market this Thursday!

Growing Local Takes a Community.

There’s something special about Thursdays at the McMinnville Downtown Farmers Market. The streets fill with the sounds of neighbors catching up, vendors sharing the fruits of their work, and shoppers discovering something new to take home.

Creating that experience every week takes a community of its own and we’re incredibly grateful for the businesses and organizations that invest in making the Farmers Market possible.

Thank you to our 2026 Farmers Market sponsors:

Recology
NW Natural
Harvest Fresh
LeafFilter
Beth Caster Properties Group

Their support helps us continue to provide a place for local farmers, makers, food vendors, and small businesses to connect with the community while keeping our downtown active and welcoming.

We believe the best things are grown together. Thank you to our sponsors for helping this market, and our community, continue to grow!

Come see what’s growing downtown! The McMinnville Downtown Farmers Market takes place Thursdays from 12–6 p.m. through October 22.

Vendor Spotlight: Outdoor Education Adventures

What if a skull, an owl pellet, or a salamander could spark a lifelong love of science?

For Outdoor Education Adventures, that's exactly the point. This Yamhill County nonprofit helps grow future naturalists, scientists, explorers, and stewards of the outdoors through hands-on experiences that get kids outside and learning through curiosity, adventure, and play.

Their programs include nature preschool, day camps, homeschool and after-school programs, field trips, and community events. And their favorite thing to bring to the Farmers Market? Their animal collection! Kids can investigate everything from mysterious skulls and fascinating insects to owl pellets and fur pelts.

The magic happens when something that might initially seem strange or even a little scary, becomes fascinating. A child who is hesitant to get close to a bee or mummified bat suddenly reaches out, starts asking questions, and discovers something new. Those moments of wonder are what Outdoor Education Adventures is all about.

OEA's roots go back to 2012, when Theresa Crain founded Watershed Education Adventures to bring more environmental education opportunities to children in Yamhill County. Neyssa Hays joined the effort in 2015, and in 2017 the two launched Outdoor Education Adventures. What began as a small program offering nature activities in local parks has grown into a year-round nonprofit serving thousands of children and families throughout the county.

We also love that OEA believes every child should have the opportunity to experience nature. They offer scholarships and free community programs throughout the year, with much of their financial assistance made possible through donations from generous community members.

And while their programs are rooted in real science, you won't find much sitting around in a classroom. The best learning happens when kids are outside exploring, asking questions, getting muddy, and making discoveries for themselves.

We love having Outdoor Education Adventures at the McMinnville Farmers Market and seeing their enthusiasm for connecting kids and families with the natural world.

Stop by their booth, say hello, and you might just leave knowing a little more about salamanders, insects, fungi, owl pellets or whatever fascinating discovery is on the table that day!

There’s nothing better than seeing the McMinnville Farmers Market make its way from the market to the plate!

Today, we’re excited to share a fun collaboration between the McMinnville Farmers Market and MDA member Biscuit & Pickles Catering. Chef Dustin Joseph shops the market each week, sourcing the freshest, best local ingredients to create his dishes - and today, we’re giving you a peek at what he’s been cooking up!

Dustin is also the creative force behind the menu at HiFi W**e Bar, where you’ll find these seasonal dishes featuring ingredients sourced from our local farmers:

Baird’s Farm Poached Peach:
Vanilla bean crème anglaise, raspberry compote & snickerdoodle cookie crumble.

U10 Scallop Crudo:
Pickled market peppers, mango coulis, grilled Baird’s Farm peach & Pablo Munoz Farms heirloom tomato.

We love seeing our market’s incredible produce inspire local chefs and make its way onto menus throughout McMinnville.

Support local farmers. Support local chefs. Support local business!

What a Market!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a very busy and very fun market yesterday! We loved celebrating National Farmers Market Week with our community, and what a celebration it was!

We had a wildly successful Zuke Races with McMinnville Parks & Recreation, and we’re so grateful for their partnership in bringing this fun event to the market. Kids visited the Parks & Rec booth, received a token to “purchase” a zucchini from one of our Farmers Market vendors, then brought their zucchini back to the Parks & Rec booth to decorate and race against their friends. So much fun! 🥒🏁

We also celebrated with lots of kids’ crafts and a raffle featuring a gorgeous spread of goodies donated by our amazing market vendors. Congratulations to our raffle winner, Zach Thompson! We hope you enjoy all those market goodies!

And a special thank you to Mayra Sandoval and Freddie Lamb for filling the market with their beautiful music yesterday.

We’re incredibly proud to bring this market to you every week for the past 25 years, and we’re even more excited about the years ahead.

See you next Thursday!
