ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may
be assigned:
1) Record information about crops, such as pesticide use, yields, or costs.
2) Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment.
3) Dig and plant seeds, or transplant seedlings by hand.
4) Harvest fruits and vegetables by hand.
5) Identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers.
6) Inform farmers or farm managers of crop progress.
7) Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities.
8) Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops.
9) Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops.
10) Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures.
11) Set up and operate irrigation equipment.
12) Apply pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers to crops.
13) Clear and maintain irrigation ditches.
14) Direct and monitor the work of casual and seasonal help during planting and harvesting.
15) Manage Farmers Market Booth
16) Manage CSA production and distribution
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The applicant should be a self-starter and able to manage his/her time appropriately. Communication is another key component of the team. Please see Other Skills and Abilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
β High School or general education diploma (GED) required
β Bachelors in related Agriculture field strongly preferred
β Previous agriculture experience preferred
β Greenhouse production experience preferred
β Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required

β Must have reliable transportation to arrive at work on time and be at farm when needed
β Must be able to work cooperatively with other co-workers regardless of personality, presence or
communication style
β Must be able to provide cordial service regardless of personality, presence or communication style
β Must be able to perform several tasks at once
β Must be able to rotate job tasks
β Must be able to coordinate multiple and changing priorities
β Must be able to verbally communicate with all other team members
β Must be able to operate telephone, scanner, copier and FAX machines
β Must be able to attend board and staff meetings/calls quarterly
β Must be able to operate personal computer in order to create production schedules and other
appropriate documentation
β Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, and squat throughout the day.
β Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
