It has come to our attention that on a recent post some untruths are being said about our family and our farm. We feel the need to defend ourselves against these claims.

The person or people stated on a social media post that Simmons Farm, Scott & Bob Simmons sold land recently for a monetary gain. The opposite is in fact true as this has been a very difficult few years for our family. We have fought hard for 4 years to prevent the sale of this land. A very generous neighbor was able to purchase the land from the seller (the seller was NOT Simmons Farm). We are now able to rent the land from our neighbor so we can continue farming this piece property in question. It was also stated in this same post that we own 400 acres in Ohio and that this land is used for our primary source of operations. This not factual information. In Ohio we own about 90 acres of farm land, and only half is used for actual farming per year because of crop rotation. This land is only used for about two months of the year to grow sweet corn. We grow the corn in Ohio because it comes in earlier than the corn at our farm here. We do not even have a market or a residence in Ohio. Our farmers get up very early, drive to the Ohio farm, pick the corn, and then drive directly here to be able to sell that corn at our brick & mortar stores located in Peters Township and/or local farmers markets. Our home base of operations is land that we farm and both markets that we own in Peters Township. The fact that we even have to clarify this is disappointing because we have been here for five generations.

Our only goal as always is to continue family owned farming for generations to come. We hope our children and grandchildren will continue the business we started and you helped grow. Thank you to you anyone that has recently defended Simmons Farm. We appreciate your continued support.
