We have quite a few family birthdays in October. We celebrated with cupcakes and ice cream cake earlier this month so this past weekend we celebrated with peach cheesecake. 😋 One of the fun parts was including the kids as I made it. My second oldest was excited to use the mixer and found out baking can take muscles when the recipe calls for minutes of mixing. 😂

These baked pumpkin seeds were gone in probably less than 2 hours after the kids found them 😂

We had a second batch of ducklings hatch Sunday but I wasn’t able to wrangle them fully until momma duck brought them out yesterday. Momma duck hatched out 10 ducklings.

There’s a couple sounds that stick with you and the chirping of a new chick or duckling is one of them. When I stepped out of the chicken coop today I was met with the chirping of new ducklings. After containing the ducklings the boys were able to count them in their new area. Now momma duck and ducklings are set.

This spring we hatched some chicks and my second oldest brought some chicks home from school that his class hatched. Yesterday, I did a double take while gathering eggs. My son was so excited about the color and my oldest said we now have Easter eggs all year round 💕 not sure which chicken laid it but excited to see if I can figure it out.

Both kittens made it down unharmed. Did they learn their lesson about climbing trees? No, not really, the white kitten had to try another tree but didn’t got out on a limb like he did here 😂

Zucchini is definitely known for hiding and growing. 😂 this big one was found by my son when he went to check the garden. It was too big for my liking to use in the kitchen but the ducks definitely enjoyed it.

I’ve known for a while that my pumpkin plant escaped the garden fence. Yesterday was the first close look I took at the vines and I even found where the watermelon plant escaped. Still hoping for these pumpkins and melons to finish growing.

We had some unusual visitors today in the pasture. I’m thinking these are a type of egret but not sure. It was fun to see them out near the cattle.
