As many of you know, The Gourmet Grove quietly closed in February. I was so lucky to share downtown with some amazing store owners for nearly 11 years. The last few years my focus has shifted to public education advocacy, which meant less and less time at the shop.
My dear friend Martha, along with her sidekick Frida, ran the shop beautifully and has gotten to know so many of my truly lovely customers and friends. So it was an easy decision to hand the reigns over, as she has become the new owner.
With a nod to the grove, Martha will open Palato Gourmet in mid-April. She will bring her enthusiasm, knowledge and amazing new products to her shop, while keeping the long-loved favorite flavors you all have come to know and love.
I am so excited for Martha and for all of you! There’s no one better to continue to bring these amazing products to our area.
You may have noticed quite a bit of work going on at 126 West Clay! We have been hard at work making some much-needed repairs and updates to the building, so that when Martha opens Palato Gourmet to the public, the building will match the new beginnings! As with any project and transition, we have faced a few delays that will result in her opening later than we all hoped. But things are well on their way to completion and she will be announcing her grand opening soon. Please follow here for updates and give a like and follow to Martha and Palato Gourmet.
My sincere gratitude to downtown Mebane and all the wonderful folks I have met along the way. I know you will welcome Martha as you did with me a decade ago.
With love,
Allyson
