A couple weeks ago we had the honor of hosting the market beef exhibitors from the Harper County fair here at the Meat co.

We took a tour, answered questions, enjoyed some doughnuts and revealed the placings of their beef carcass contest.

Added money, trophies and a buckle were awarded to the winners.

Grand Champion (overall carcass value): Savannah Baker

Grand Ch: Drake Latta

Largest Ribeye: Drake Latta

Highest Dressing Percentage: Brody Latta

Highest $/cwt value: Hudson Schule.

In light of the current shadows being cast on the beef industry as a whole; the turnout and support given to these young producers brings a lot of hope to our industry.

580 Cattle Conference attendees were able to hear many amazing speakers and visit with a large variety of venders. Session topics this year included drought conditions , parasites , cattle markets and first aid on the farm.
If you havenā€™t been to this event before then you need to get it on your schedule for 2027!
