Did you know that chicken eggs already come naturally pastel colored without the need for artificial dyes?!

Yes! Hens/Chickens can lay a God-given rainbow of white, brown, blue, pink, green, and even speckled eggs influenced by their breed and pigments like melanin, which happens during the final stage of egg production.

One breed is even named the “Easter Egger,” known for their colorful lays.

Those in the photo are locally sourced from chickens raised by Roz Crawford of Crawfords Garden Starters right here in Memphis, TN!

Can you believe it? Our FIFTH market season is upon us and we’re more committed than ever to bringing fresh, local food to our folks and fam.

We’ve got some EXCITING updates to share this season, but Juneteenth weekend remains a ritual so PUT US IN THE CHAT!

While we intentionally and unapologetically celebrate black farmers and makers, black southern foodways, and the power of community gathering through land and food, we absolutely and simultaneously celebrate and honor unity and diversity, welcoming ALL to join our market family, bridge gaps, provide access, and build equity with us.

This season is a milestone and a precious family heirloom of our heritage.
