Just wanted to say today that this chicken thing is not just feeding, gathering eggs, and cycling the eggs to the store. It is taking care of the flock, making sure every girl is happy and healthy. This little girl was standing by herself all fluffed up with her little eyes closed Wednesday morning when I went out to check water and gather eggs. I watched her and she just stood in the middle of the chicken yard and did not interact with the other rowdy ladies. I picked her up, took her in the house, bathed her, and blew her dry. I set her up with fresh straw, water, and some food. I drained her crop that had become obviously backed up. I watched her and checked on her throughout the day, giving her some extra pets as I passed by. She never recovered. Unfortunately, she passed in the evening. I was sad, but I understand that raising livestock comes with loss as well as gain. I tell this story, because I want people to understand that we are invested in these girls. We want to put out the best product we can. Also, we try to make our feed and packaging purchasing local to help others in business. We have been MIA for awhile. We encountered issues with predators from above and below. The hens started molting which slowed production, but also several began aging out. We started the task of searching for new hens. We came upon a regenerative chicken company out of Lubbock last year. After several months of swapping information, the company contacted us and said they were going out of business and had hens for sale! We now have 6 month old hens at peak laying age, with our older chickens still laying a small number of eggs. We also acquired 12 new chickens locally that round out our flock . We are back with a happy, healthy flock and a rather grouchy goose! Let me know if you need eggs!!

Hello!! It has been minute since I posted. Life happens and it sure has been hitting us super hard. A month long stay in the hospital, family reunion, and therapy 3 times a week wears me out!! All that being said, I just wanted to let you know our girls are producing a little slower because of heat, but we still have lots of eggs!! Message me and we will get them to you!! All your orders are greatly appreciated!!
