Greene's Acre Organic Gardens

Greene's Acre Organic Gardens Creating a recentralized community focus on health, nutrition and sustainability through the cultivation and harvest of locally grown natural foods.

Greene's Acre will:

(1) Be an evolving ecosystem of sustainable natural food production, a testbed for conservation techniques and innovative growing systems, and a demonstration model for others to replicate. (2) Engage school, youth and community organizations by providing hands-on educational opportunities for them to "work the fields" and harvest the fruits of their labor. (3) Generate enough

food to support our efforts through sales to local restaurants, CSA subscriptions, farmer's markets, and our own daily "yard sale". (4) Dedicate 10% of production for donations to food pantry and other outreach organizations, and 10% of production for 'Farm to WIC' (Women Infant and Children) sales. (5) Operate as close to 'zero waste' as possible by observing the 5 R's; Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle and Restore. Lastly, we will be working toward becoming a CNG farming operation (Certified Naturally Grown, (naturallygrown.org), with absolutely ZERO petrochemical herbicides, pesticides or fertilizers being used in growing our crops.
