Chef Maria Vieages is joining us for a cooking demo paired with small plates built around our oils and vinegars. Watch her cook, taste as you go, and leave with a recipe card to make it again at home.
Wednesday, September 9, 6 to 8 PM. $40 per person, 20 seats, BYOB.

Our shop also carries a Toasted Sesame Oil and a Roasted California Walnut Oil, both gourmet, both versatile. Sesame oil pairs with soy sauce for an Asian-inspired dish. Walnut oil pairs with our Red Apple Dark Balsamic for a nutty, fruity combination. Come taste it for yourself!

Pour one of our extra virgin olive oils into a dish, then swirl in our Harissa Infused Olive Oil and Fig Dark Balsamic. Top with olives, capers, red pepper flakes, grated cheese, and fresh basil. Savory, spicy, and just sweet enough, all in one dip. Come fill a bottle of each here in Old Metairie.

New oils just crossed the equator to reach us đź«’

We just brought in Southern Hemisphere olive oils: Arbequina from Chile, plus Barnea and Coratina from Peru. Two shop favorites are also returning, Manzanillo from Spain and Coratina from Italy. We added two new vinegars too, a coconut white balsamic and a Gravenstein Apple white balsamic. Come taste them all here in Old Metairie!

A good extra virgin olive oil has a higher smoke point than most people think. It’s high enough to cook and fry with, about the same as the everyday oils in your kitchen. We label the smoke point right on our tags, so you can check for yourself. Teaching the real story behind good olive oil is the part we love most.
