π€° Side-Lying Leg Raises During Pregnancy
Side-lying leg raises are a safe and effective pregnancy exercise that strengthens your hip muscles, glutes, and outer thighs without placing unnecessary strain on your abdomen. Strong hips help improve pelvic stability, posture, balance, and mobility as your pregnancy progresses.
β¨ How to Perform It
β’ Lie on your side on a comfortable exercise mat.
β’ Support your head with your lower arm or a pillow.
β’ Bend your lower leg slightly for stability.
β’ Keep your upper leg straight.
β’ Gently tighten your hip muscles.
β’ Slowly lift your upper leg about 12β18 inches (30β45 cm).
β’ Pause briefly at the top.
β’ Lower your leg slowly with control.
β’ Keep your hips stacked and avoid rolling backward.
β’ Repeat before switching to the other side.
π Recommended Daily Amount
βοΈ 2β3 sets
βοΈ 10β15 repetitions on each side
βοΈ Perform 3β5 days per week
β οΈ Always exercise within your comfort level and stop immediately if you experience pain, dizziness, vaginal bleeding, fluid leakage, contractions, or any unusual symptoms. Consult your healthcare provider before starting or continuing any exercise program during pregnancy.
