Today, we're excited to welcome back Stefania Olive Oil, bringing imported olives and olive oils directly from their family's farm in Greece. Be sure to stop by and say hello.

Our Vendor of the Week is Butters Breads . Don't forget to bring a container so you can take home your free sourdough starter while supplies last.

The Angry Italian will be serving up fresh pizzas made to order. They'll ask for your phone number and send you a text when your pizza is ready. Great pizza takes a little time, so use it as the perfect excuse to wander the market, visit your favorite vendors, and enjoy the community atmosphere while you wait. When your phone dings, you'll know dinner is ready.

We're also thrilled to welcome Doug Wilcox as today's musician. You may have seen him performing at markets and events throughout the region. He brings incredible talent, and his wife (Abi-don Studio) will be joining us as a guest vendor with her handmade jewelry.

Today is also your last chance to shop with Heavens To Betsy LLC before they retire from the market. Stop by to stock up on your favorites and wish Betsy well until next time.

The Vendor of the Week is… Butter’s Breads !

If you’ve had Butter’s Breads before, you already know these breads are perfection. If you haven’t, this is the perfect week to try them for yourelf! Small-batch sourdough baked fresh with a crackly crust, soft slightly tangy center, the kind of loaf that doesn’t last long once it hits the table.

This week, they’re also sharing free sourdough starter for anyone ready to try baking at home. Just bring a container and take a little piece of the magic with you, and be sure to ask Sarah all the questions--she love to help fellow bakers!

One of the things I love about a farmers market is that no single farm grows everything. Just like you shop different aisles at the grocery store for different products, each farmer brings something unique to the table.

That's why we're so glad to welcome Red Plate Farm to the Market this season. Their fragrant fresh herbs, leafy greens, and specialty vegetables have added even more variety to our produce selection, giving shoppers access to items they may not find from our other farm vendors.

I'm not supposed to play favorites when it comes to our food trucks. However, The Angry Italian_2023 is making that very difficult.

I'm genuinely excited that this local family food truck will be joining us this Thursday, because these are some of the best pizzas I've ever had. Not just the best food truck pizza. Some of the best pizza, period.

The crust is fantastic, the toppings are generous, and everything is made with the kind of care and quality that you can taste from the very first bite.

Of course, you'll find plenty of fresh produce, local meats, baked goods, artisan crafts, and all the other things that make the Market special. But if you're asking me what I'm most excited about this Thursday...

It's pizza.

Starting a farm from the ground up isn't for the faint of heart, but if anyone is up for the challenge, it's Greg and his family at Blacksmith Farm.

With years of farming experience under his belt, Greg is putting that knowledge to work alongside his wife Amy and their daughter, who already has all the enthusiasm and determination of a young farmer in the making. It's the kind of family effort that reminds us what local agriculture is all about.

Right now, Blacksmith Farm is bringing fresh microgreens to market, harvested right before your eyes for maximum freshness. We've even spotted the season's first radishes making an appearance! While those early harvests are exciting, they're just the beginning. As the growing season continues, you'll be seeing more and more fresh vegetables coming from this hardworking family farm.

Stop by and say hello to Greg, Amy, and the future farmer of the family this week. We think you'll enjoy watching their farm grow right alongside the season.

The incomparable Kate Smiles makes her season debut at the market this Thursday, and we could not be more excited. The second she starts singing, she absolutely commands the space.

If you’ve heard her cover “Pink Pony Club,” then you already know it’s become something of a market favorite. So… would it be completely out of line to suggest everyone wear a little pink this Thursday to show Kate some love?
..and while you’re showing love, don’t forget to tip your musician. Support live music and the incredible talent that helps make market nights so special!

Our market has always been pet friendly. (Some weeks the dogs seem even more excited to be there than the people.) In fact, if our friend Claudia is at the market, there’s a decent chance she may even try to convince you to leave with a new best friend! Certainly several of our vendors have--looking at you Sarah and Fancy!

Starting this Thursday, our four-legged patrons have something new to look forward to as Blockhead Barkery joins the market with small-batch baked goods made especially for pets. So when the weather is good, bring the family, bring your appetite, and yes… bring the dog.

As a reminder, all pets are welcome at the market as long as they are friendly, kept on a leash at all times, up-to-date on vaccinations, and under the direct supervision of their human companions throughout their visit.

I want to personally invite everyone out to the market this Thursday from 4 to 7 PM to welcome Bub-B-Que BBQ & Catering Co. for their market debut.

If you’ve never had their barbecue before, just know this: at the end of the night, they often say there’s nothing left “but the dishes.” That's because their barbecue and homemade sides are packed with bold flavor, and the portions are anything but small.

Right now, this is Bub-B-Que’s only scheduled appearance of the season, so I really hope you’ll come out, support them, and enjoy an amazing dinner at the market.

Now that’s how you kick off a market season.

Yesterday’s Opening Day felt like the return of something people had truly been waiting for. The weather couldn’t have been better, the irresistible aroma of ThePitaKing drifted through the air all evening, and Mark Eastman absolutely knocked it out of the park once again with an incredible live performance.
Everywhere you looked, friends were reconnecting after a long winter apart, baskets were overflowing with fresh local goods, and hearts were just as full.

To everyone who came out to celebrate the market’s return: thank you for making Opening Day so special. We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next week... with even more big fun waiting for you.
