It’s What’s for Dinner Wednesday! This week, we’re keeping things simple with a hearty and delicious slow-cooked Swiss steak!

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 pound round steak, (we suggest bottom round) cut into 6 even pieces.
1 onion, cut into 1/2 inch slices
1 celery, cut into 1/2 inch slices
2 cans (8 ounces each) tomato sauce

Directions:
(1) In a large plastic bag, combine flour, salt, pepper and round steak pieces; seal the bag and toss to coat evenly.
(2) Place the onion pieces into a greased slow-cooker. Top with the round steak, celery and tomato sauce.
(3) Cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the meat is tender.

This recipe pairs well with mashed potato’s or any side of your preference.

Enjoy and happy Wednesday! 🙃

What’s for dinner Wednesday?!

Steak Fingers 🙌

Ingredients:
1 pound MMC Steak Fingers
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon chili powder
1 egg beaten
1 tablespoon milk
Dash of Tabasco
Oil or beef tallow for frying
*Option to add a dash of Adobo and Lawry’s seasoning for additional flavor!*

Directions:
(1) Mix flour and spices in a small bowl
(2) In a separate bowl, combine egg, milk and Tabasco.
(3) Heat oil or beef tallow in a skillet until a drop of water causes the oil or beef tallow to sizzle and bubble.
(4) Dip steaks in flour mixture, then in egg mixture and then back into flour mixture.
(5) Lay steaks gently in the hot oil or beef tallow and fry until lightly browned on one side. Turn and fry until browned and meat is cooked through.

Tips:
(1) Fry in batches if needed. You do not want to overcrowd the pan.
(2) If needing to keep the Steak Fingers warm after frying, place the cooked Steak Fingers in the oven at 200 degrees until you finish frying all the meat.

Serve with any sides you prefer and enjoy!

This recipe is a Scharbauer Ranch Cowboy favorite and we hope it also becomes a favorite in your home!

What’s for dinner Wednesday? 🎉

This week, we’re bringing a Philly cheesesteak pasta recipe straight from our store to your table. It’s a simple, hearty meal the whole family will enjoy!

Ingredients:
12 ounces penne pasta
1 pound thinly sliced steak (we suggest split-bottom sirloin flap)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 green bell pepper
1 onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup beef broth
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded provolone cheese
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt, pepper and paprika, to taste

Directions:
(1) Cook and drain the pasta. Set aside.
(2) Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook to your desired temperature. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
(3) Using the same skillet, sauté the onion and bell pepper for 4-5 minutes, or until softened and caramelized. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
(4) Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, cream cheese, salt, pepper and paprika. Stir until the cream cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
(5) Return the steak to the skillet and add the cooked pasta. Stir in the shredded provolone cheese until it’s melted and everything is well combined.
(6) Serve in a bowl and top any toppings you’d like.
(7) Enjoy!
