This is a whole beef tenderloin. It was on sale for 7.99 per pound. It weighed 7.68 pounds and yielded 6.06 pounds. The whole loin was $61.00 so it ends up being just over $10.00 per pound. Filet Mignon steaks are usually around $20.00 per pound. Even if it wasn't on sale it's still cheaper than buying the steaks pre cut. You also don't have to worry about how long they sat in the case and you can tailor the loin for your needs or wants. I cut 6 beautiful steaks. Roasted the head and the tail and have about 1 1/2 pounds for stir fry, pastas, steak sandwiches or salads. I can teach you how to clean it, cut it, grill it and roast it. It is a real treat.
