OggBites OggBites Most of my life I have been an athlete and personal trainer focused on health and wellness. What a trendsetter! Aha! Hazah!

Growing up in a family that included undiagnosed Celiac Disease, I ate a healthy, clean and balanced diet to ensure I felt well. The last 20 years, my diet has not included gluten, since I felt my stomach and whole body did not respond well to wheat and other foods that included gluten. Life was going great, then in 2005, I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. Using my lifetime skills of staying

ahead of nutrition and dietary theories I went ahead and pursued many avenues of nutrition to find the best foods to wellness with this disorder. Nothing I researched, found from doctors or tried seemed to be the right way. Just when the “chips were down” I stumbled on an entirely new approach that was based upon the evidence that humans do not require the consumption of grains to achieve nutritional fulfillment. I began to eliminate grains from my diet altogether. This was so successful for me that I no longer had to ingest harsh drugs. (Yea) I wanted to become the town crier and share my healing journey. The first steps in my plan were to create really yummy snacks that didn’t include gluten or grain and that were rich enough with nutrients to energize me and support my active lifestyle. After lots and lots of experimentation and some not as delicious paths…OggBites were created. I am now so happy to share with you my delicious bites of nutrient dense snacks that are great before a workout or sport, during activity and after that great hike or swim or just as a healthy treat. Some say they taste just like raw chocolate chip cookie dough!

Every so often, I come across a new blog (I should say, new to me) that just knocks me off of my feet. One such blog is I Breathe…I’m Hungry by Mellissa Sevigny. Not only are nearly every one of her recipes something that I would devour without thinking twice, her photography is absolutely beautiful...
