My name is Katie, and I am a third generation farmer to this legacy, and I just want to tell you a little bit about my John Henry’s Family and our farm. My Stepdad is John Henry, and he was raised on a farm in Millington, MI so although farming has always been in his blood, it is also in his heart with pure
dedication to the farm, and it’s way of life. My mom, Kellie, grew up in Romeo, Michigan where her parents owned and operated the Romeo Airport. Both of them learned at very young ages the value of hard work, honesty, integrity, respect and friendship. Both my Mom and John Henry had always dreamed of having their own farms since they were children. Now they are living their dream, and they want to share their love for farming with others. We all enjoy working together as a family and so many precious memories are made along the way, and we wouldn’t trade them for the world. We love that our cattle are able to roam the pastures, the pigs are able to be outside and rut in the dirt and the chickens are all free range and roaming the farm. Sometimes the chickens roam a little too freely and they love to get in to my Mom’s freshly planted flowers and dig them up so they can lie in the cool dirt. Even though she chases the chickens away from her flowers with her broom, all of our animals are very well taken care of, treated humanely and enjoying their lives on the farm. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the best employees in the world, and the most amazing customers!! All of us here at John Henry’s Meats are so thankful for all the friends we have made along the way and our family who make this farm and business a success!!
