SNAP cuts are deepening hunger across our communities.
Anti-hunger advocates nationwide are sounding the alarm as the $187 billion in SNAP cuts under H.R. 1 continue to impact working families, seniors, children, and individuals already struggling to put food on the table. These cuts are creating more barriers for families who qualify for assistance, while food pantries and local organizations are being stretched beyond capacity trying to fill the gap.
At Resources and Beyond, we see the reality every week. More families are depending on food pantries because grocery prices remain high, wages are not keeping up, and federal support is being reduced. Many hardworking families are being forced to make impossible choices between food, rent, utilities, medication, and transportation.
Food banks and community pantries cannot replace federal nutrition programs alone. SNAP benefits support families, children, school meals, seniors, and even local businesses and grocery stores. When these benefits are cut, the impact is felt throughout the entire community.
We will continue serving our neighbors with dignity, compassion, and evening hours that support working families β but we need our communityβs support now more than ever.
Please continue advocating, donating, volunteering, and standing with organizations fighting food insecurity every single day.
Together, we can make sure no family goes hungry. β€οΈ
