Four Sisters Farmers Market

Four Sisters Farmers Market Every Thursday from 11 AM - 3 PM
June 5th to October 31st! The market is a program of the Native American Community Development Institute (NACDI).

Four Sisters Farmers Market is an Indigenous-centered food market, focused on both Indigenous and hyper-local foods from Phillips and surrounding neighborhoods. Working with native-run farms and food producers, we will help develop a healthy, Indigenous food system that is accessible and welcoming to people in the American Indian Cultural Corridor.

Happy Juneteenth! We'd like to acknowledge the federal holiday that commemorates the ending of slavery, and celebrate the resiliency of Black Americans whose ancestors endured it. We are grateful for our allies in the struggle against systemic oppression, and like most situations, the market is a better place due to the connections we build together! With this in mind, we (as usual) welcome all peoples to join us at Four Sisters this Thursday.✨

Located at 1414 E. Franklin Avenue in the .mn / parking lot from 11 AM to 3 PM- shop local with goods from over a dozen vendors, coffee from our favorite coffee shop, , and tunes playing all day. 🎶😎

Join Wóokiye Wiŋ this Thursday from 12- 3 PM
for a make-your-own watercolor bookmark workshop. Attendees will learn to create one-of-a-kind bookmarks honoring the strawberry moon. The activity is perfect for beginners and seasoned artists alike and will include resources from Walker Arts Center!

Things we learned from our demo last week with Tyra Payer of Can I Have Some:
- Lactofermentation is a process of food preservation that uses lactic acid bacteria to convert sugars into tangy pickled goodness.
- The process mainly uses salt, but avoid iodized salt! Sea salt, canning salt, and kosher salt can be good alternatives.
- You have to "burp" your fermentation baby every day while it is growing its good bacteria!

Thank you, Tyra, for sharing your knowledge and delicious kraut!
Did you miss out on this demo? Be sure to check out our next one as well as our other programming featured at the market this June and July. Pick up one of our schedules at our next market.
