I would’ve never guessed my passion for food would become my purpose!

Tbh, I had no clue what was in store for me as an adult but I’m extremely grateful for the path God has carved out for me!

Everyday I’m faced with challenges that push me to explore my commitment to this work but I honestly don’t think I’ll ever be so down bad where I’ll stop.

It’s a privilege to be able to provide nourishment for my community. Not only with the food we provide but with our energy, education and representation!

My connection to this work probably goes deeper beyond what I can imagine. I crave the heritage of those who’ve come before me and wonder what their contributions were within their lifetime.

In my family, food has always been a staple for celebration. I grew up watching my mom cook in the kitchen with the food network channel on. I’d help her cut veggies or just crack jokes & be in the way because it felt like love.

She would always try out different cultural dishes and would host family gatherings and cook big meals so that any and everyone could have a plate!

To me, my mother is the true inspiration for this all. Her values to nurture and provide never went unnoticed and she was always trying to give whatever she had.

As I walk down this purpose I hold her lessons close to me. Understanding that if I can’t provide anything else— I’m always blessed enough to feed someone in need 🙏🏽

When I reflect on my life it’s kinda bittersweet how far I’ve come along on my journey!

Many experiences have shaped me into the woman I’ve become and many people have influenced my perspective on life.

Sometimes I feel like we’re all just taking things too serious and that life is meant to be full of curiosity, love, fun and learning.

But then I get hit with the realization that I’m a Black American woman who’s still trying to free myself and my community from this matrix of colonial corruption.

Not a day goes by that I wish I could ease my mind from the troubles of the world, be mediocre and still have my basic needs met but unfortunately I’m trapped in the game of capitalism, racism and oppression.

My resilience at times feels like a curse. Thriving in madness, brilliant, creative and authentic but still expected to be MORE can be one of the most exhausting things about existing.

It’s like although I’m able to live this way, I often find myself questioning what I’m doing it all for.

For me, it’s never been about the accolades or hierarchal status but the simple fact that I’m living my ancestors wildest dreams.

That generations before me prayed for this opportunity, this freedom, this world and that before I leave from it I too want to create something better for my children and their children to come…

So I have to show up, day after day. As my best self whether that’s giving it 100% or just 20% because our future literally depends on it.

lol just because my schedule looks different doesn’t mean I be chilling all day 😅

There’s a misconception that people who are self employed don’t do much but the reality is we’re constantly doing MORE than the average 9-5 employee.

In this economy, it takes a lot of creativity and dedication to make ends meet as a small business owner.

Every day you’re strategizing and investing in yourself and your business which can be a roller coaster 🎢

At no point do you ever really have time off because there’s always something to fix, plan or do for your business!

But no— we wouldn’t give it up for a “stable” income and less stress but we do wish yall would put more RESPECT on our grind! (Even if it does look different than yours)

Those who pass judgement reveal more about themselves than the one they’ve chosen to judge.

When you learn self’ you’ll realize that yin and yang exists in everything. And that doesn’t necessarily mean one is bad and the other good but that there’s just two things existing simultaneously.

Practicing compassion, reflection and accountability allows you to see the truth beyond our existence.

We’re all just growing and learning the depths of ourselves and the intersectionality of God’s creation.

We often believe there’s a power beyond ourselves granting freedom but the truth is, to be free is to exist authentically while having grace for all living things. 🪷

Americans finding out that we’re practically living in a 3rd world country is pure comedy.

At some point, many people believed in the so called “American Dream” and even conformed to the idea of who they had to become to achieve it.

But for the average Black American it was only ever a mirage used to lead people astray to a land of exploitation and false hope.

The great tales of “the land of the free” never actually existed and was only propaganda used to build the society we exist in now.

It must come as a surprise to those who’ve chosen to overlook the suffering and sacrifice of the Indigenous & Black People who’ve inhabited this land.

But for us, it seems like a regular Tuesday of governmental malpractice. Which is the basis of incorporation for the United States of America.

Crazy how racism works.

One minute you’re perpetuating hate and wishing suffering on an entire group of People, next minute you’re the one suffering.

It’s crazy how people who chose to vote against their own best interest now feel blindsided that they aren’t in the “safe” zone of discrimination and oppression led by capitalism.

It’s almost as if we all have a common enemy but y’all were too busy caught up in colonial propaganda to see the conspiracy right in front of your face.

I personally don’t find injustices funny at all but sometimes you have to laugh at the jokes being written because this is America.

Don’t catch you slipping up 🧐

Real conversations are meant to make you feel uncomfortable because it pushes your boundaries to explore things you often overlook and repress.

Everyday people converse about pointless things like the Super Bowl, celebrity drama and gossip but imagine if that time was spent identifying the injustices of the world and brainstorming solutions for them 🤔

I think we’d be having a different experience in this country right now if people were willing to hold themselves and others accountable.

It’s less about “who’s right” and more about exploring our options, learning from the past and dreaming towards the future we want to build.

As someone who intentionally reflects on my own life choices and circumstances I find it difficult finding others who align with this comfortability of discomfort.

People often choose to conform and distract themselves in order to live a comfortable life that they can be complacent in.

But the future we dream of yearns for disruption of the current programming. It urges us to identify the things we can no longer overlook in order to achieve the life we ALL deserve. And it begins when we start having more uncomfortable conversations.

beautifully said 🙏🏽

Happy Black History Month ❤️

We will NOT stand for the erasure of Black History and contributions to building the foundation for the United States of America to be incorporated.

Before immigration it was the Indigenous People of this land plus African prisoners of war that were sacrificed to create this regime that everyone comes to for a better life.

It is extremely important for people to use the CORRECT language that does not dismiss their sacrifice and achievements to this country.

Two things can exist simultaneously but you must first ACKNOWLEDGE and HUMANIZE the very same people that have been continuously erased and alienated due to the harmful propaganda that continues to be spread.

If you want allyship you must first educate yourself, atone for your ignorance, and support the very same People who have tried to warn you for years about the truth behind the “American Dream” you seek.

If these pivotal steps are not taken, it will only create a further divide amongst the oppressed, the ones who choose to conform and the ones that uphold white supremacy (consciously or subconsciously).

There will not be a united front if Black people are NOT in your vision for what true liberation looks like.

Every rising after my hydration and waste disposal (💩🚽) I take 20 minutes to perform a lymphatic massage on myself (primarily on my waist area)!

It really helps with bloating, stimulating digestion and removing any excess waste in that area (overaccumulated lymph or trapped food in colon)

10 minutes are dedicated to the massage roller then 5 for guasha boards & another 5 for suction cup! *they should be used in this order as well!

The Massage Roller stimulates circulation in the lymph glands and will help eliminate the accumulated adipose tissue. It will help get rid of fat pockets and improve the appearance of cellulite while tightening the skin.

The Guasha Boards are used to contour the body while assisting in the removal of excess waste through the lymphatic system. It drains water and facilitates the reconstruction of mobilized water and fats to tighten and tone the skin.

The Maderoterapia Cup is used to suction fat from areas of the body where the fat has already been broken down by transferring the fat to the lymph glands. The suction cup works by reducing the localized adipose tissue and drawing out wastes while stimulating healthy blood flow!

This simple 3 step method can also be used on other areas of the body! Make sure you use oil and only apply light/medium pressure.

It’s also important to maintain a steady breath, using diaphragmatic breathwork to assist in the circulatory and lymphatic systems flow!

(P.s. this method can also be used after workouts to reduce soreness and muscle strain)

The 7-piece wood tools I use can be found on my Amazon storefront (link in bio) ❤️

Things I learned from the Tibetan Buddhism teachings at ⭐️:

🪻There never was a self. There’s nothing “real” in the first place. The seemingly “reality” is what creates loneliness. People are suffering due to their misapprehension of reality.

🪷 We are born enlightened beings. The relative reality of life (systems, labels, social constructs, etc.) clouds our enlightened state as we grow older (conform). Meditation removes the clouds that covers your already existing enlightenment.

⛰️ Relative reality: your suffering exist on a relative level (constricted) vs Ultimate reality: things aren’t what they seem (fluid)

💕 The heart has the ability to bypass the mind. It extends 3 feet beyond the body (electromagnetic field). The heart is the safety net to keep from disassociating.

💫 There are 5 conflictions to energy:
• Anger/Aversion
• Desire/Attachment
• Ignorance/Delusion
• Jealousy/Envy
• Pride/Arrogance

🧘🏽‍♀️ 4 immeasurables to achieve Bodhicitta
• Loving-kindness
• Compassion
• Sympathetic Joy
• Equanimity

These qualities are practiced in meditation, extending these pure, boundless feelings to all sentient beings, forming the foundation for the altruistic wish for enlightenment.
