W***y G’s RezRunner Spotlight

1. What’s your name or nickname? Rhondelle

2. Where are you from? Antelope

3. Favorite snack or drink on the road? Sunflower seeds and redbull. Travel snacks of champions!

4. Favorite music while driving? I listen to everything except classical music because I don’t want to end up asleep on the side of the road!

5. Fun fact about yourself? I’m terrible at these. I have a dog! Does that count? (Rhondelle has experience DJing for our local area radio stations including KINI and KWYR)

6. Why did you join RezRun? I love helping people and thought this was a great way to do that when I have a little time.

7. What’s your favorite thing about helping the community? Knowing that I’m helping someone to not have to struggle quite so much and I’ve made their day a little easier.

8. Favorite place to grab food on the rez? All stop has pretty legit food but I also love the sales people have. You won’t beat that homemade with love meal!

9. Early bird or night owl deliveries? Either or. Usually I’m a night owl but early bird isn’t out of the question.

10. Anything you want the community to know about you? lol I got nothin for this!

On Wednesday I was asked to present W***y G’s RezRun to some teenagers. Man… the questions I was asked honestly surprised me in a good way. They wanted to know how I started, how the app works, how we handle rides and deliveries, what the hard parts are, and what keeps me going.

It hit me that these young people are paying attention. They’re watching people build things out here on the Rez. They’re curious about business, leadership, community, and finding ways to create something instead of waiting for opportunity to show up.

Last year, this was just me, my vehicle, my phone, and an idea. Now I’m sitting in front of youth talking about building systems, helping elders, supporting families, creating opportunities for drivers, and trying to do something positive for our communities.

Technology issues and nerves tried to get me a little bit, but overall it went really well. I’m grateful for the chance to share the story and hopefully show some of these young people that you really can start small and still build something meaningful.

Wóphila Tȟáŋka to everybody supporting W***y G’s RezRun. We’re still growing. Still learning. Still pushing forward

W***y G’s RezRide Pricing Update

We believe transportation on the Rez should be reliable, transparent, and fair for both our riders and our drivers. Due to long rural distances, fuel costs, vehicle wear, and return travel, RezRide pricing is based on total operational mileage traveled during each trip.

Local RezRide Rates, Up To 75 Miles
$0.45 per mile
$5 per passenger
Example

Mission to Rosebud and back:

26 total miles
Mileage: $11.70
1 passenger fee: $5

Total:
$16.70

Longer Distance Transportation

Trips over 75 miles use adjusted long-distance pricing tiers due to increased fuel usage, driver time, maintenance, and extended travel demands.

Long-distance pricing is available upon request when booking.

Additional Information
Pricing is based on total trip mileage traveled by the driver
Additional stops may increase pricing
Wait times may result in additional fees
Exact pricing may vary slightly depending on pickup and drop-off locations
Shared rides may help reduce overall costs

Our goal is to keep transportation available for our communities while also helping drivers continue operating safely and sustainably across the reservation and surrounding areas.

One day, RezRunner Ed took a young woman up to see her grandmother who is currently in hospice care. That ride meant a lot to all of us because those moments matter. Being able to see a loved one before their time comes is something nobody should miss if it can be helped.

When I made the post asking for support, so many people shared it and showed love. But something happened that honestly humbled me deep.

One of my Marine Corps tanker brothers, Greg Vickers, reached out and donated money to help with travel costs. Greg has never even been to our Rez before, but he keeps up with me, follows what we do out here, and always supports from a distance. Our conversations are usually full of jokes, old Marine humor, and complete chaos, but when it mattered, my brother showed up.

That hit me hard in a good way.

Sometimes people from completely different walks of life still understand what community means. They understand family. They understand showing up for others when it
counts.

Wóphila Tȟáŋka, brother. I truly appreciate you.

Before the app existed, there were the Elder Dashes.

Back then, W***y G’s RezDash was just me. No big team. No organized system. Just me, my vehicle, my phone, and a desire to help people however I could.

What started as simple deliveries slowly became something much deeper. A lot of elders across the Rez needed help getting groceries, hot meals, medicine, and rides. Some could not drive anymore. Some lived alone. Some struggled getting to town. Others simply did not want to ask for help even when they needed it.

So I started showing up anyway.

Sometimes it was grocery runs. Sometimes it was medicine pickups. Sometimes it meant carrying bags inside or checking to make sure an elder was doing ok. Caring people in the community would sponsor evening meals for elders so they could have a warm supper delivered to them. Those moments reminded me how much our people still care for one another.

During June, July, August, and September, I also regularly drove an elder to his appointments. Those rides became part of the heart behind the Elder Dashes. It was never just about transportation. It was about making sure somebody got where they needed to go safely and knew they were not alone.

Over time, these acts of service slowly became known as the Elder Dashes.

They were never really about business. They were about respect. About taking care of the people who spent their lives taking care of everybody else first.

The Elder Dashes continued until August, when life shifted and I accepted a full time job. Once that happened, it became harder to manage everything manually through phone calls, messages, and Facebook posts while trying to balance work responsibilities too.

That is what led me to create the app.

The app was built so the mission could continue and eventually grow into something bigger than just one person trying to handle everything alone. What started with elder deliveries and rides helped shape the entire vision behind W***y G’s RezDash and RezRun.

And now, that original mission is returning in a new form.
