On the first Wednesday of the month pick up a spice kit in the Demonstration Kitchen on Level Three. Spices are generously donated by the Good Food Store. Spice It Up! kits are free, but supplies are limited. Please limit one kit per household. Each kit includes a featured spice, background and traditional uses of the spice, and a low-cost recipe. This month the featured spice is Savory Spice and will be available after 1 PM tomorrow, August 5!

Farmers markets don’t just happen!

They happen because people show up before sunrise, haul tables and tents, answer hundreds of questions, solve problems on the fly, coordinate hundreds of vendors, empty overflowing trash cans, dodge traffic jams, navigate crowds with full carts, and occasionally convince dogs that the market isn’t their personal playground.

They happen because of an incredible team, a dedicated board, generous sponsors, committed community partners, and a community that believes local food access, agriculture, and that local businesses matter.

The funny likes and dislikes might make you smile, but behind every Saturday is a whole lot of hard work, early mornings, teamwork, and heart. We all show up, because we truly care.
